Silent Hunter 5
« on: 23-07-2010, 23:07:48 »
I was thinking about getting this game but due to everything i've heard im having second thoughts. I know about the bugs and glitches but, using the patch that fixes some of these issues, is the game worth the money?

What I have heard is that he game is not worthy of the Silent Hunter title. It's appears to be some kind of an arcade sub-shooter, not a simulator like its predecessors.

Would that be with or without the patch?

Even with the latest patch i would stay away from it.  ;) And there is a good chance, that there will be no more patch for it.

Either way it comes with UBIsofts 'new' copyprotection and I wouldn't touch that with a stick in a normal offline game.

  Get Silent Hunter III.

Then go here.   http://www.subsim.com/subsim_files/patches2005_sh3.html

Then get this.  (Silent Hunter III Voice Command)  http://www.subsim.com/subsim_files/patches05/profile_2_4.zip

It is freaking sweet.  Only thing you need the mouse for is the periscope rotation and using the deck/flak guns.
