but I suppose there's no way to create a material that will only interact with another specific one? Plus it would require redoing the tanks so I guess it's a no-go).

that's why I would suggest the "charge-way" more :)
and it would also work on barbed wire (which is more used to getting on the nerv of players than everything other obstacle I think^^) like on Omaha beach where its perfectly fits into the map

i hope that i will not be the first victim of that katjusha^^

and the open fields are providing good fields fo fire to the 88 and pak 40s
whcih i Thing will be located near the left flags

the top mg gunner in the small turret can take care of advancing infantry nearby - so you can Need 3 good guys (i would like to say that this mg is the best one  ever used on a tank because it has a 360 degree movement)

im specially favoring the grant on sidi bouzid because the Color of the tank is prety similar to that of the Vegetation whcih makes it littlebit harder to locate

for sure the grant is easy to spot on gazala - ive never played it because of the air danger on this map

but on sidi bou zid the tank can well be hidden under trees  against air  forces

when i played Gold beach a few days ago ive seen the possibilty of bloweong up the concrete barrages and i thought maybe the mappers can add this to other maps for flanking out machine gun nests - only on specific Points 

i like this idea and maybe the mapper can add some Variation to the maps

if possible, take a front mg gunner with you
he can spot enemy tank in front and can block roads while the turret can secure the flanks
(ist much better wehen you know that there are no enemy tanks like in the first stages of Port en bessin or anctoville)

the best tank - which has a huge ptental in this tactic is the Grant tank in Sidi bou zid

1 front gunner(and driver) watches front
2. gunner (Big turret) secures against small fast moving vehicles that the front gunner cant aim so well because of the slow movement of the tank
3. the small mg turret on the top - which can act as a infantry Support weapon or to cover the rear against infantry

the last two can cover the flanks (left AND right) which gives this tank a big plus! - and they can watch for other enemys and spot the for the big gun!

the best Thing about this is the fact the the other two gunners doesnt Need the direction of the tank to aim their Targets - like the front mg gunners which will be mostly forgotten

and maybe the Grant Needs a littlebit of coordination for using his full potential

will be difficult for the aa gunners when they firing the sillouette or hearign the engine Sound coming near...

i dont talking about the movement Speed of the vehicles/Emplacements im talking about that the camera is not locked to the weapons movement
But it is locked, always was so you simply couldn't notice something that doesn't exist in game.


no ist not locket at the flakvierling 38 you can move the mouse and then the gun moves slowly to the pointet direction

maybe thats something that you didnt noticed^^

smells like COD tank driving system to me, also, you can look around in tanks with free look key (ctrl).

i hope taht this is new because if ist not im going to feel stupid now :/
i never heard from that

but this would also be nice (or even better) for aa/guns or at weapons

 i noticed that the Flakvierling got a different type of movement - when you move the mouse the gun moves slowly to the spot where you looking - indirectly

on the other gusn like the pak 40 or other stationary weapons its allways that your Controlling the weapon directly

i would like to see the indirect movement type more often on other guns
maybe the tanks with turrent can use this Feature too if the camer will be relocated to the commander cupola the Player can look around qick and the gun/turret moves to the spot where hes pointing at then he can klick the x button and aim directly like in the flakvierling gun the
the Player has a bigger field of view and can look faster like a infantry man that take a fast look over the shield of the pak to spot for targets (but the gun still moves slowly)

waht do you think?

Bug Reporting / Mareth Line 88 AA shells bugged

i had a round on mareth a few minutes ago and i noticed that the AA Shell (or time fuse shells) are pretty bugged

they were flying throuhg the plane and didbnt explode even when i was firing on slow flying planes
and if im firing on on planes flying away from me (which should be pretty simple to hit) the Shells exploding before the reach the plane

so i fired all of my 62 time fuse Shells and only hit planes...

im playing the aa mostly on all maps but ive never noticed so much missifing on other maps than on Mareth
so i think These are bugged

btw: if i was shootiong friendly planes accidently the Shells allways explode near the plane and damaged/destroyed it - that nearly never happened on enemy planes...
