how do i take vids

BASIC CAPTURE
---------------
1. Get hold of Fraps (www.fraps.com) - (pm me for a Fraps serial)
2. Start Fraps and configure 'where' fraps will save the recorded movies locally on your computer
3. Start up FH2 - use your Fraps hotkey to start recording (simples)

EXTENDED CAPTURE
--------------------
For some more cinematic footage, and please bear in mind you may have to record tonnes of footage to get anything remotely useful...

1. Get hold of Fraps (www.fraps.com)
2. Start Fraps and configure 'where' fraps will save the recorded movies locally on your computer
3. Go to your C:ProgramFiles/EAGames/Battlefield2/mods/FH2/ai  (folder) and copy the file "aidefaut.ai" to somewhere memorable (make sure you do this as you may need to revert back to it later)
4. Open "aidefault.ai" using notepad and change the settings to.

Quote
echo *****************************************************************************************
echo AIDefault.ai ****************************************************************************
echo *****************************************************************************************

aiSettings.setNSides 2
aiSettings.setAutoSpawnBots 1
aiSettings.overrideMenuSettings 1
aiSettings.setMaxNBots 31
aiSettings.maxBotsIncludeHumans 0
aiSettings.setBotSkill 0.4

rem To spawn more than 15 bots in SP, use the following lines instead of the three lines above.
rem Note that this is totaly unsupported, it will affect your system's performance
rem and may even crash your game. That being said, you will most likely be able to run a lot
rem more bots than 15 on your system.

rem Example for 32 bot game with expert bots

rem aiSettings.overrideMenuSettings 1
rem aiSettings.setMaxNBots 32
rem aiSettings.maxBotsIncludeHumans 0
rem aiSettings.setBotSkill 1.0

run BotNames.ai

aiSettings.setInformationGridDimension 32

run AIPathFinding.ai

rem EOF

Save the file and paste it back into your C:ProgramFiles/EAGames/Battlefield2/mods/FH2/ai (folder) this will give you more bots to play single player with.

4.  Start up FH2, and instead of going online, start a single player game > load your map.

5. As soon as you spawn, open the command window, now this is different for some of us, for me it's my home key, for others it's the ` key (top left of your keyboard).

6.  In the command window type the following 4 commands.

sv.allowFreeCam 0
sv.allowFreeCam 1
renderer.drawhud 1
renderer.drawhud 0

The reason you do this is so that you can quickly navigate to a command, when you reopen your command window use the up (arrow key) to select from the command you typed historically and obviously saves you typing out commands over and over.

You'll now have no HUD interfering with your footage, you can wander about and record things from an FPS viewpoint.

7.  Ok, lets do some freecam footage of bots acting sexy noobish.  Open your command window, and using the up (arrow key) select the command "renderer.drawhud 1" from your historical command lines, so you get your HUD back.  Blow yourself up with  grenade or jump off a building to get into the spawn que.  In the spawn select screen (default Enter key) DESELECT all spawn points.  When the spawn timer runs out, press the SPACEBAR to activate freecam mode.

8.  The last thing to do is to open your command window again and using the up (arrow key) select "renderer.drawhud 0" again so your HUD disappears.  Now you have a free view of the .... raging, can I say that? Bot battle below.  Pressing the SHIFT key will slow down the camera panning giving you steadier control.

RESULT: everything you see here is bots at work http://youtu.be/x546hVgIFg4 (shite I know, but hey it was more about seeing how youtube worked and embedded things into websites than great FH2 footage at the time)

Good videos guys.

However, I am still missing those absolutely fantastic films that hasnt been done on FH2 yet. Theres been attempts and mini-versions of them but not exactly something like we saw in FH.

Like some very unique acted adventure such as Heinz & Werner, or something as epic and dramatic as D-Day and The Last Patrol. But hopefully we will get those eventually.

Theres been a great variety of FH2 related videos but most of them are very similar to one and other. I especially liked "It's a War, Innit", WaW's commercial and of course "FH2 With Wittering" series. It is great there is a great variety of these videos, showing both funny moments, people pwning others and just plain gameplay videos which shows what FH2 is about. But I am keeping my hopes up someone will make either a funny adventure kind of thing like Heinz & Werner and/or an epic warfilm with FH2 at some point. :)

My unashamed collection of very very very veeeeery silly FH2 vids.  :D
I've tried to make one of every map, but we all know how rare BR footage is, right?  :(

Forgotten Hope 2 - Bombardment In Bardia  (My second FH2 Vid, a load of old nonsence!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hooZZsUXHLE

My dream is to one day see that hslan have left battlerecorder on accidentally after a hilarious round of Tankbusting in the Kubel + Gabult Landungs, or Sticky Bombing all them sleepy Panzer campers in a Willys, all the music (Magnificent 7 etc) is in place, all the famous filmstar voiceovers are ready, it’s all ready to go, this movie HAS to be made, and I can dream eh!  ;D

The Skyttegrav admin was able to send me some sort of file log of a round (Tunis) and I downloaded it to my Profile/Demo file and it had all the round info so even though there was no downloadable BR footage I could still acces that particular round. I have asked hslan admins if they could send me this type of file after a fun round in the Krazy Kubel, but unfortunatley they don't keep such info, bah!

While I personally appreciate your work Capten_C and I dont want to sound rude or anything as I do admit that some of the bits in your videos did make me at least snicker and some even laugh out loud, but all in honesty it gets very repetive when you use same sound clips over and over. It was nice and dandy in the couple of first videos but eventually it got too repetive for my taste.

But I endorse you to keep going at it and I still watch new videos you make because I think its great there are makers for FH2 videos.

@ Fuchs, ah I thought that thing died on its arse. Let me know when its getting wind to its sails.

No not rude at all, I agree, It's been fun putting stuff together on Movie maker but now I do cringe at a lot of things in them myself :-\ And there's a few I'm gonna delete.

There's a lot of outstanding work shown in this thread allready that put my efforts to shame!  8)

I wish I could re-do a lot of em, now that I've worked out how to get voice clips from youtube etc (Free Studio)  :D

Back when I was making 'em, trying to find free voice clips on the web was hard work so I just put in what I  had.

I'd love to make some new fresh* stuff, there have been so many funny moments over the last year or so, but you just can't get the footage.  :(
Hopefully this will change if/when 2.2 brings in more BR servers.  :)

No, no, not at all. We started too early I guess, he just started a new study and I was in the middle of my final exams plus we where and are still running around in that desert. We both decided to wait until we both got it tidy again. Sadly König is still not online much but I hope we can get started with the release of Normandy. We and the 101st have both shown interest for cooporation in projects so plus the 130th and all the volunteers we will atleast have enough actors.

Well, to get battlerecorder footage of a Sticky bomb round on Mersa Matruh has long been a HOLY GRAIL of mine!  ;D
Ever since the inception of my FH2 career all those long long years ago I dreamed of obtaining even the slightest morsal of footage. Well, thankyou hslan for making a sad olde git's dream come true!
I joined the other night and low and behold the next map was Mersa  :P
I started shaking, I knew there's be footage to get  :P :P.
First, to get the Willys, second, to cap Garawla, third to get a decent set of chaps to go sticky bombing, fourth, plenty of Panzer prey............ :D
We bloody did it, we got some real nice orgasmic footage! Thanks to my squad members for putting up with my cunning plans, and thanks and apologies to Cpt-Tagaazouuu for being such an unwilling victim and almost destroying the whole idea heh  ;D
Oh and a big shout to alburdy for his demonic Kubel banzai chases!  ;D
Anyway FH2 Africa veterans, here's some footage to reminice of all the good (and bad) times spending all those hours pre Normandy on those old dry dusty sandy baking hot Africa maps... Gentlemen I present Mersa Matruh parts I & II.  :)

A little 2 part montage from hslan a few nights ago. Thank you to all the squadmembers who joined my squad to help with filming! Although nothing apart from the first minutes was "scripted", just dis-organized chaos!  ;D

Great clips Cymro. I acted @ 6:30 on Part A that I knew how to play this game.

And I just love the music on Clip B at 5:15.

After a fun round on Falaise Pocket (well c'mon it's Falaise Pocket..how can you not have fun?  :D) some nights ago I decided to download the BR footage from hslan and see what could be pieced together!

Had to make it in two parts, still can't make shorter films!  ::)

Forgotten Hope 2 - Falaise Pocket - Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74t_wje_YZs) Start of round montage...5min

Forgotten Hope 2 - Falaise Pocket - Part Deux (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3pQGvjVy9o) Wasp Carrier action...9min

Not to everyone's cinematic taste of course  :)

Does anyone have any good ramelle, st. lo breakthrough and brest replays? By good I mean - full server and balanced. I ask because we'll have a long weekend now in Poland so I'll have some time to finish 2.3 'surprise trailer' ('surprise promo' now) and I only need some battle scenes that are not scripted.

Right gonna take a while to upload, the 3 files are 110MB. That 2shared is slooow.. will try and find a quicker fileshare site
Meantime here's hslan's BR files link http://88.198.52.198/rotate_demo/ (http://88.198.52.198/rotate_demo/) you may as well gamble and download a few of the last ones..I know St Lo and Ramelle followed each other around 12-1am ish last night.

Short review for Kuba:

Minor thingy for me is that I don't like it when you have this very nice shot of the US soldier following the Tiger with his bazooka and then he doesn't fire. In the clip there are several moments where you want a tank or a soldier to fire and nothing happens. Leaves me unsatisfied a bit.

But: I think your vids have a great feeling for drama. You use music in a way which really adds to the images, and draws one into it. Also the editing is nice and flows until a sudden stop: great drama. As for overview: you covered almost everything of the new maps in 2 minutes, wow.

Ahh, I miss all this, bag of old mary J, night in front of the Battlerecorder... some of the best 'me times' I've ever had - have been re-watching and filming regulars slog it out on HSLANs public server...

Last night I was able to get a very nice round of footage from HSLAN for Brest, and epic charge for the last flag by a well drilled US team, was ultimately repelled by a frantic - trapped animal German team, who then broke out and started re-capping flags like cockroaches.  Some of the stand-offs were so Hollywood to not capture them for prosperity and post them on You-Tube would be a crime.  Observe this space.
Title: Re: Show us your FH2/FH1 Videos
Post by: Kelmola on 09-11-2010, 12:11:58
True, Brest was teh awsom-0, but I'd say that the entire last night on HSlan was epic. Like PHL where Americans were losing something like 250 to 50 and had again been pushed away from Farm and FJR6 flags, but then we managed to capture both almost simultaneously while sneaky backcappers took Orchard and Crossroads soon thereafter, and we managed to win with 30 tickets left (the fighting in the usually almost undefended northwestern ditch was also intense). Or Giarabub where the Italians almost pushed us out of the fort several times. Or the epic fight in the trenches of Hill 108 in St. Lo.

Good times, thank you for all participants 8)

It was a bloody good night on hslan! Allies were pulverised on S.o.T  lost all flags very early on with 200 tickets to go, well "it's all over now" I thought. Sneaked the brencarrier through the lines and we managed to cap one back, trying to cap the second one back was insane in the bunker flag with me psykfallet and Jimbob spawnkilling wave upon wave of Jerries (we were trying to cap..it's allowed!)  :P + the ones rushing through the door...we lost 1-8 in the end arrr what a buzz! Then the next 3 maps were legendary, Ramelle, Brest, St Lo,  I will be tellling my grandkids about this night!  :D

Indeed several awesome rounds. I was mostly impressed by how far we got as germans on Siege of Tobruk, even getting to the cap-zone of the last aussie flag, before someone sneak-capped an undefended german flag. And on top of that the round ended with only 8 tickets left for the winning team, how could a round like that not be a great one?  :)
Title: Re: Show us your FH2/FH1 Videos

Because without wrenches the only thing you can do as an allied (if you don't have a tank/mortar) is run and die ?

SoT sucked, but the four next rounds were awesome, especially the suprise-victory at PHL ! :)

Yes, some really amazing round yesterday on HSLAN.
We played Brest with about 28:28 and allied were pushing Axis to Harbor pretty fast. But axis even managed to break out again. On one rush from the Harbor, I entered a empty Pak40 who had some HE shells left. I was awarded the "Pak Whore 2010" award by mopskind after I cleaned a building cramped with allied soldiers two times. I think I never made so many kills in such short time.  ;D
Please don´t miss this when you do a video von.small !

Siege of Tobruk saw the Axis pushing all the way to the allied main in never before seen heroism until some sneaky allied managed to grab back one of the front flags :) Thanks again to the Axis commander -BiD- who helped us a lot with artillery and gave me always supplies when I needed them.

During St.Lo all the tactics, that worked very well just a day earlier at 762 server, failed miserably because of the tough opponents  :o

Some help plox  ;D

I've ouput a hi-res movie in .avi format 720x480, it's 1GB in filesize - when I post it to YouTube (standard setting for YouTube is 640x348) why does it shrink to 450x255?????  >:(

When I normally output for YouTube, I use FLV format, this is YouTubes native-playback type... The file sizes are usually quite small, 40-50mb, this means they upload to YouTube pretty quick, but I've had feedback that my video quality is super shit - so, I thought I'd try a hi-res .avi file...

It's fuuuu-annoying that having just waited all of 4hours for the video to upload I now find it reduced in size.

Oh, here it is... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x546hVgIFg4

I tried to film a scene last night on HSLAN -  Antocville, with both German and British stood side by side, the request for actors to come together and not shoot each other was acctually met with some great community spirit, we were all stood there in the rain, until I heard that all familiar sound clip "it's gonna blow", proving that no matter where you are "there's always 1" that's got to disobey.  Son, I am dissapoint. I got loads of frapsed material, I'm now just starting to see if I can produce something out of them. I've been thinking of fixing up some tutorial videos of flying, tanking and inf. Advanced stuff, not like "hit X for sights."

Here's a shameless frag video, showing the thing that keeps me alive on battlefield: constant awareness of things happening around me. It ultimately will fail when facing people who have knowledge that I am still there, as seen in the end :)

Some of you may know the machinima channel on youtube. It is an insanely popular channel that posts gameplay videos, mostly of the newest CoD title or bad company 2 etc. Anyway, I stumbled upon this here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDXUFlU71OE
Basically these guys want to start a series about "Top 5 gameplays" (I suppose they mean like rampages and awesome killstreaks) from batlefield titles. Point is: they said they are interested in stuff from all battlefield games, not only new ones. While they didn't say mods, it would be cool if any of our aspiring FH2 filmers could perhaps try to send them some kind of gameplay video (something like this would be cool: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2etlejDAu0 ).
If an fh2 video would end up on that channel... well to say the least it would have a huge audience automatically.

I agree, Lydycker. Great job, don't know if you know but you really showed a simple, short but very entertaining video but also well made.

You fast forwarded the boring parts and showed the good stuff and that makes this video awesome

Some random kills here and there and still I found it better then most of the FH2 videos out there.

Good shit!

Hey again. This one is a much, much longer than the last one. It's an old recording from September 2010, with me flying the Me 109 in El Alamein. Lot's of death involved, viewer discretion is advised.

Total playtime is around 21 minutes, which has been compressed to little under 13 minutes. I think I should learn how to cut videos... I just like the continuation of the playing showing on video. I watch that and I keep pressing Caps Lock to check my score, then cursing that it doesn't work. After a second that light bulb flickers to life... 'Oh, right..' :p

Recorded on HSLAN, with some weekend players around ;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egC-NWp8T_s (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egC-NWp8T_s)

P.S. My self criticism is enormous and I still think that after 8hrs of editing everything it looks bad, has text on screen that offends someone, text in wrong place, too long, in-game chat that should be removed (how?!) etc etc... but what the hell, here's the fourth and final version!

Brilliant video, Lydecker! I watched the whole thing in 720p and that was the shortest 13 minutes I've ever seen.

Good settings (Who wanna watch a video with somebody playing on low settings btw?), some awesome kills and most important for anybody who wanna make these kind of movies, you fast forward the boring parts so the viewer doesn't have to see it.

And the funny part was that Kelmola got killed so many times, I'm laughing now but I bet as soon as I join HSLAN you'll strafe me before I've even pushed "Join game"

Perfect video IMHO!

Keep up the good work

Title: Re: Show us your FH2/FH1 Videos
Post by: Lydecker on 12-01-2011, 01:01:53
Heh, I'm sorry Kelmola :)

Yes, I fly with a joystick, Logitech G940 at the moment, which is a tad bit much for simple BF2... but it's very accurate. The rudder and throttle are on WASD, so sometimes flying gets a bit wobbly when trying to nail that crosshair on a target.

Throttle is always full. Speed is everything and if a strafe fails or something unexpected happens, I want power to help me handle it. It gives me less time to strafe, but also helps me to survive and escape angry AA. Sometimes on Alamein, flying over Miteriya is interesting when the entire hill seems to light up and every gun is shooting at me. I just let them cool off by switching to Kidney Ridge ;)

I don't much follow the kill messages when I fly. Hit markers on crosshair are well enough. I do check the kill after dogfighting someone, it's like collecting mental dog tags or something ;D

Sometimes I'm surprised of the amount of kills from flying. Today I hit over 50 kills on Crete when trying to do my best for the team in a 109 and all I thought was "why the hell didn't I fraps this round!?!" I think it could have been excellent material for new pilots on removing AA, hunting Vickers and strafing infantry when flying few meters above ground. I actually clipped someone with my wing today and THAT did make me feel all warm and fuzzy ;D He even saw it coming! Like a deer in headlights...

Thank You very much for the comments! :)

One more question Lydecker - how do you look around from the cockpit (don't use this word on the server - you will be kicked  ;D), I mean look at your sides and up? I asked on a server, but people said that it is impossible. Just tell me what is the name of fuctions in options.

Default key is control if I remember right. You press control down and keep it pressed, while you are doing it, you can move your view around.

Ah, ok. I know this one from using a tank  :P But it seems that for flying a plane I need more than 2 hands  :P

Actually, it's JoyToKey. I tested it out last summer and it stuck. Never used it before, but I guess I got old & lazy. It's nice for searching, but unlike people are suggesting on that thread, it's not good in dogfight. Even though it is quick, plane is still out of control when you use it. I use other means to know where my opponent is.

Discussed in length here: http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=321.0 (http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=321.0)

About setting that up: setup your mouselook button in FH2 Aircraft controls to mouse button 0. Configure your joystick's POV hat in JoyToKey to handle mouse movement and add a 'click left mouse button' on each direction you have. And that's it. I also suggest adding the 'Cockpit' and 'Chase Rear' views in Aircraft controls to your POV hat.

Edit: I think we better end this off-topic about flying and get back to videos!

Also, this video ONCE AGAIN illustrates, why kill messages are a good thing even if they are "gamey". :)
How about keeping the "You killed X" messages and removing the other crap up in the far left corner?

i prefer the oposit.

I was flukey enough to get a 10-0 KDR in what felt like under a minute a few nights ago on hslan / St. Lo  :D

Just one of those rounds where everything goes right! Couldn't manage a clean sheet though, but had a very pleasant ego boosting 22-6 or similar at the end.
So I looked up the B.R. file to review and of course I couldn't help loading Fraps up  :-[  ;D

Forgotten Hope 2 - St Lo & Mauser K98 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKYihB5K5S4)

I just watched this in 720p and...

 Rawhide likes this

- Inglorious Bastards soundtrack (Why did it take so long time until we had a FH2 video with this?)
Great choice of music through out the video.

- Intro/Outro. Perfect.

- The kills. Awesome job, first from your perspective then also the perspective of the losers. Me like.

Great video, keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback!  :)
I didn't realise it was from I.B untill I tried looking for a better quality version from youtube and saw the association!
I'm just doing an extended version (should be no more than 2 min extra) with some longer range shots and the M10 massacare! Just for personal sunday afternoon editing pleasure of course, I might upload it sometime if it's any good!  ;D

Ok just uploaded the Extended version today. Part 1 is roughly the same, with Part 2 having more "self aggrandizing" shots  :D

FH2 - - St Lo K98 - - Extended Part 1*  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnR9IkFGbrE) 5min

FH2 - - St Lo K98 - - Extended Part 2*  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_KmXhoMKiU) 5min

Could have made it slicker etc but I enjoyed the editing process anyhow!

*Now with new lower and Flippy Warbear approved* sound levels  ;D

*Patent Pending

What are you looking for, your style is always (imo) urging on the commical/hipster, whereas mine is always stoic classical.  I get all my inspiration from iTunes Radio > Classical > CINEMIX, which is back to back, wall to wall soundtracks.

Well, tiz a thrice of  perhaps...cough*..looks both ways, lowers half moon spectacles.."it is I Le'Claire" whispers, unofficial promo vids for _ _ _ _ _.

Although old Gustav's Mars has been ripped off by one and all, something dark, heavy, tension building along the same lines, but with a modernistic twist perchance, not to heavy on the Banjos though.
I've been sniffing around Hanz, but again as brilliance as his stuff is, a little overused, want to use something a little more unexpected.
Tried Game of Thrones sig tune, didn't really work...so anything of the above ilk suggestion wise will be welcomed!  :)

From the classical side... See if you find something from The Enigma Variations by Sir Edward Elgar. Variations 4 and 7 especially might do. For more pomp and circumstance, there's of course the Op. 39 "Pomp and Circumstance" March No. 1. If the 'Land of Hope and Glory' part is too obvious, pick something from the beginning for example or from march No. 4.

Actually, from the No. 4 at 1:57 mark. That's one of my favourites:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfrmDtH1Xpk

And then there's Johann Strauss... I can recommend at least "Festmarsch", "Egyptischer Marsch" would be great for Africa bits, and "Unter Donner und Blitz" for more action.

P&CM No.3 is awesome, like he knew about Indiana Jones movies before they were invented or something.

EDIT: re-Reading your comments, I Hi-lighted the most appropriate in yellow

Veigar - Final Reckoning (http://youtu.be/hU__XtmeXB8)
It's got 'Fh2 Germans' written all over it.

Craig Armstrong - Escape (http://youtu.be/ZhP6F-vxeZI)
Try and stop the fucking hairs on your neck going, sadness in battle, futility of war, slow motion grenade throw...

Audio Machine - Akkadian Empire (http://youtu.be/jtLArzlmgeY)
Battle Drum in the background, operatic FH2 style chanting, fast paced war machine, maybe a bit too ideal for areoplanes, but has some great breaks for scene swapping and a pause/creschendo at the end.

Brand X Music - Never Surrender (http://youtu.be/eNhWjXZ4pAk)
Quietly brewing into a war drum song from 1.12 onwards, very allied forces (winning).

Transformers 3 - Scoponok (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FA6Go9EcGXA)
Got some nice beats that you can cut scenes to, also starts quite withdrawn and sollem, then builds into a creschendo.

I've shit loads more if none/any of this helps.

Well yes, it does need to be as stereo typical as that sometimes.  You can granulate the experience into "does the music sound like good guy music or bad guy music" and it works, Hollywood does it, and your subconcious picks up on it too. I try to broaden it by listening for instruments that are instinctivly native to the country the sound is trying to represent.  History may tell us differently, but 'instinctivly' the Americans for instance march to small brass instruments and snare drum, and the German to piano and bass drum (with vocals - cause they social people :) ).  The British march to orchestral brass and snare drum, and the Russians violin and bass drum.

This stereo typing may have been installed into us by Hollywood, but for the purposes of our little zoeotrope like movies in comparrison with Hollywood epics, I'd suggest following the format of stereo typing to increase the potential for someone to say in your You Tube comments, "dude, sweet".

When in doubt, always check the MechWarrior II soundtrack.

Also, for epic classic-style soundtracks, the late great Basil Poledouris delivers (plus his compositions are not as recognizable overused as Williams's or Zimmer's).

Damn, I could watch the whole day stuff like this - it is simply beautyful and a you've made a very good choice of music. Btw, the camera movement is very good. It looks very smoothed. Maybe you could make movie with all maps included, that would be awesome and in widescreen format if possible.

Could be very good as a background video for the new webside. ;)

well the music was only 2 minutes long, i made a lot more of the shots with other maps such as gazala and st. lô, but i didnt want to ruin the feeling by rushing it with the maps so i put 2 shots each.

about widescreen, i dont have a widescreen monitor, and i didnt feel like chopping the videos size.

No, there's a cartoon & Ink outline "video effects" on the "newest" version of old Win Movie Maker (Vista version I think I have, but works on Win7) The Win7 movie maker is totally sh1t.
Just played about with those settings.
I only noticed after uploading that you can do a catroon setting on the new youtube options.

I ripped the Melchett voice from a "best quotes" vid from youtube a few years back with Freestudio, just a case of importing the soundtrack into the vid and catching where the clip u want is.  :D

Maybe it's still out there, I can upload it somehow if u can't get it that way.

Cheers for the comment!  :)

PS have a look at Avidemux 2.5. You can use it to turn vids into widescreen for youtube etc

Aside the fact that anything with Benny Hill music is funny, I really like how good slowmo looks on FH2. Says a lot about the quality and effort of the mod and it's makers. Especially when that Tiger moves towards the camera, it just looks damn good.

Now, if the Benny Hill lumberyard is from actual WaW game, the fun factor of the video triples instantly. :)

And makes me wonder who the hell came up with a flag area like that!

Map was made by Scholl and yes that was during a battle.

I should have flanked. The tiger died about 10 seconds later when the m36 I was providing a distraction for surprised the tiger and hit it from a side street.

It might be a bit lengthy because I tried to cover every map.

Feature AFAIK, but went M.I.A. cause it was considered too buggy... (I still don't get what was the gamebreaking bug that ended it)

no dude, well  you know I was just bringing attention to it.  The guy who contacted me just said that the FW movie had been selected.  When IMHO the FH2 trailers are much better put together, were they entered? Why not?

Note the ;)

I agree on the fact more FH2 vids should get a wider audience! Flippy the YouTubeMaster maybe can do something here?

Mentlegen! Hard to believe 5 years has gone by & 25000+ views since I made this vid! :o

Back then there were a few servers running, hslan mostly. (RIP) :(

Hslan never ran battlerecorder. And round footage was nigh on impossible to get.

I think I got all this footage from a late night half empty Japanese server. I was overjoyed when I was able to download the shennanigans!  ;D

After a 7 month lay off, gently coming back to the game, there seems to be a bit of a lull in player numbers.

I'm confident things will pick up again, and with all the new equip. + maps in the works "SOON", the mod will still be around for years to come.  ;)

Right, Tea & Biscuits to celebrate methinks!

I'd forgotten about that vid, absolutely barking mad and very funny!

Where does the Welsh-accented 'well, well, well...' come from? Is it from 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum'?

I was thinking just the other day that I hadn't seen you on the server for a long time. Glad you haven't packed it in, this game wants all the players it can get right now.

Cheers!  :D
I've had chronic tennis elbow which peaked back in Nov. Been resting it for months, so I took a break from the game. 5 years of FH2 + BF2 before that + a heavy driving schedule took it's toll.

It was agony at times even to hold a mug of coffee in my left (ASWD) hand. In the end (just like the mug!) I paid $30 online to access the videos and info of some American guy who said he had the "secret" to make it better. Bottom line, his exercises actually seem to be doing the trick! It certainly doesn't go away by resting.  :)

But easy does it for now, I don't want it to flare up again, tennis & elbow sound like innocent enough words, but put 'em together, and what have you got? Misery!  :'(

Most of the sketches have been pulled from YT. But this one is still up, John Sparkes' character "Gwyn" from Absolutley.
(Somebody on the radio just said "Absolutely" as I was typing it!) I get that a lot typing stuff, synchronicity!  ;D

Nice to hear your elbow is (getting) better, Cymro!

this game wants all the players it can get right now.
I think I'll pick it up again too (soon), my public break has been long enough by now, I guess.

Ah Absolutely, of course! Classic stuff, I haven't seen that in 20-odd years! I still shout the 'It's vid-e-o...' line from Stoneybridge Council at my brother whenever the opportunity comes up :D

Commiserations on the elbow. I feel your pain, I've got an op for a sporting injury coming up soon that's going to make it uncomfortable to sit at the desk for a few weeks so there'll be no FH for me either. What's worse is I'll be paying for the op privately as it's a fairly rare injury that by all accounts is hopeless trying to get sorted through the NHS, and it'll be a serious kick in the wallet. It's been a bit of an insight into what uninsured Americans go through, poor bastards. Thank **** for the NHS... most of the time, anyway. Knackered old crocks of FH unite! You could always jump on the server and play commander as an elbow-friendly reintroduction.

Get back on as well Slayer! It's disconcerting to see the game struggling to even fill a single 64 server some nights.

Really just a quick test on Nvidia's Shadowplay. It might overtake Fraps on my machine some day. 1080p @ 60fps and I didn't even notice apart from small icon in the corner. I have problems with sound and haven't figured that out yet, same as half the people who tried this, it seems. Currently I can capture sound only by looping it through mic and that creates this annoying humming...

Video recorded last night on 762 and is unedited. Quality came down horribly when I did the quick audio gain... 4GB mp4 reduced to 900MB mp4, so quarter of it's original quality.

I want someone to make a video with me. I promise you a hell of a time as a squad.
But I dont have the bandwidth to make a good video and upload it.

Anyone who's played alongside me before may appreciate the kind of action I'm talking about.
Well edited, it may be a pretty solid video for a number of reasons.

Any takers?
