I've just played a round of Point du Hoc until my computer crashed on the next map (no idea if FH2.2 related) and I have to say, that this is probably the best and surely the most intense current WW2-related game.

Stupid Torrent. Still have a few hours to go. It seems all the seeders are uploading using an old microwave, aluminum foil and some paper clips.
If I wasn't stuffing my face with my own birthday cake yesterday, I could have started the download last night. Still a nice birthday present, though.

I'm using DAP (download accelerator plus) and as far as i can see, it isn't helping atall. It's currently downloading between 20-60kb/s!!!! >:(

I don't find any server >:( well, I loaded up some maps on an empty server and found two nice things:
1. Natty listened to me and added the Beretta M38 on PHL
2. They added a third axis sniper rifle: K98k with Zf41, really nifty scope.

One Day Annouce, one day torrent to the release. Why didnt you announce the release date with torrent file one week before? (like 2.1, 2.15 etc) There is no news at the RSS feed?
And only 2 direct links... omg... why not bigger plattforms?
I like the idea of torrent, but torrent is bullshit when nobody is seeding because of the short forerun... :-(

The release was obviously fucked over by the BF2 1.5 patch. I'm fairly confident they were intending to release the torrent on Wednesday, as per tradition, but BF2 1.5 screwed too much stuff up and they needed to fix it first. They decided to release it ASAP instead of delaying another week. It might not be the smoothest release, but we have 2.2 (or can get it) and we should be happy.
The mirror problem is likely compounded by the fact that the release was so screwed up by BF2 1.5 that the Devs didn't know whether or not they could release this weekend, so they didn't have any mirrors lined up. When everything was fixed in time for a weekend release, they pushed 2.2 through the torrent and likely scoured the internet looking for mirrors on such a short notice.
The question is: Would you rather have had to wait another week for 2.2, and possibly find out later that it was ready before they released it? I'm positive someone would be bitching about the Devs "holding out on them" or something if that had happened.

The torrent should pick up speed after a few minutes. Mine looks like it will take a grand total of about 5 hours...
By the way, I suggest everyone defrags their hard drive after they download and install the mod. As well as keep the two installers in case you ever need to reinstall.

Damn I have no idea what your problems with the torrent are, my main torrent speed was between 500K and 1MB the whole time. Finished in less than 2 hours

The 1.5 patch screwed absolutely our schedule.
Our plan was to release this friday with a standard announcement one week before and all that, as usual.
But the patch and its bugs for mods screwed this big time.
Some devs are going holidays this next week: ctz, toddel, etc, and a release without them had been absolutely imposible, so the options were this non-standard release or release in one month. We have been working like slaves, day and night, to get this out, our final release candidate was tested and ready yesterday, some hours before the announcement, and was compiled as torrent by our hoster from Crete (in his holidays): a big adventure, we could write a book about it.
We are sorry about all the troubles with hosters and stuff but we really hadn't other option. I hope you can understand.

Only thing i'm wound up about now is that i've been downloading prt 1 for 2 and a half ours now and it's 51%
But I just started downloading prt 2 with the new mirror and its average is 99.5 kb/s
unlike the original mirror i am using which is about 40-50kb/s.
The reason i find this frustrating is that it seems like a waste to cancel that download and replace it with another faster one from scratch! :P

My advice is to look for a slot on servers using a FTP protocol (there are 2 on the list displayed on bf-games.net)
I tried first with HTTP, and the download was stuck between 5 and 30 kb/s and finally crashed.
Then I tried the FTP, and reached ...*ahem* 7Mo/s ;D

Can you put out a working mirror? I finished the part 1 download, and there was nothing. No installer, no folders, no nothing. I wasted 5 hours for nothing. The Finnish site keeps giving me 403's and Access Forbidden pages, while the German sites take forever and/or don't work. Really, why no Filefront or something? Just give us something that works. I was really looking forward to playing this today, but I can't now and I'm too busy tomorrow. This is just agonizing.

Just came home, drunk. downloaded FH2 this afternoon and will try it out now at 03:00 AM (or is ti am? don't rmemeber right now.) anyway, latei nt the night/early morning. Hope it's as good as you say it iss!

also, when going to the subway on my way home, I slided down the escalator hand-rail, I went to fast and when I tried to slow down my hands burned. I had to choose between the pain of falling down with my head first or pain in my hands. I chose the hands (luckily) and now my left pointing-finger burns. hopefully I can play effectively anyway

Do you have the following settings checked: "Same Version only" "Same Mod" "Punkbuster" "Small Maps" "Medium Maps" and "Large Maps"? Leave all the settings except for these unchecked.

Downloaded it over night on my MacBook Pro and installing now from a pen drive onto my desktop.

We recommend all players and server admins not to install the 1.5 patch until a solution has been found.

Because 2.15 and 2.2 beta at that time were not compatible with 1.5. The problems were fixed and 2.2 release version is compatible with 1.5.

Big thanks for the update, love all of it. :) Great fun
I'm really more of a fan of much faster paced games like Quake and such but there's really something special about FH2... very immersive and awesome gameplay. Keep it up.

I received an email stating not to install 1.5 and considering that I'm crashing to desktop on server selection. Yes, it is rather puzzling.
Also, until recently there was no instructions to have 1.41 installed.

but i have not the 1.5 bf2 patch...!

I was wondering if the glitch has been fixed where when you launch the game via XFire etc instead of using FH2.exe, the screen turns to black and white when you zoom in with the rifle?

Just launch it from the FH2.exe to be safe.

It's not a glitch, you must use FH2.exe to launch FH2 and not BF2.exe, otherwise the shaders won't work correctly.

I got round that in Steam by directing my Steam shortcut to 'FH2.exe' not a convoluted mod addon filename on top of BF2.exe.

I accually managed to install 1.5 after I had FH 2.2 installed so it might work before you try unistalling and re-installing everything...or maybe I was just lucky?

Right, I just reinstalled bf2 vanilla. I tried patching 1.5 but "you allready have a newer version installed" comes up.
Ok, am I correct in thinking that you patch to 1.41 then 1.5 then the two FH2 patches, correct?

I (and I think alot of people) would love to see a 2.2125 release of 2-3 maps in late Nov/December. 2.225 with a few more in Feb. 2.2375 in April...

Just a quick check. I'm sending the FH2.2 install files to a friend.
There are two types of files and I can't remember which is which. (the pre zip and post zip)
Do I send the files with the 'zip' icon on them or the 'plain' type files, it's probably the files with the 'zip' on them? Just need reassurance!
