Altimeter

Would it be possible to add some sort of altimeter to planes? It would be nice knowing how high my J-3 cub is above the clouds scouting or how low my stuka is getting while bombing.

Would rather be useless for a arcadish game like BF2, which is based on no proper flying physics...there for it would pretty much just be like a piece artwork hanging in the cockpit.... with no real purpose, just decoration.

I think the devs wanted to try to get something like this in. That and an artificial horizon.

It should be possible due to the values on the planes' HUDs in vBF2.

Altimeter is useful if you can't see the ground and diving. In a high speed fighter, you only have a couple seconds to react before you lawn dart.

We had that back in the early days of fh2 . even before we release 2.0. we decided to keep it out because it disapear in the moment you move your head.

Pity. I love having the old altitude numbers like in Vanilla.. Then I can float above the surface again.

Didn't have those in WW2... still would be nice to have something more for that time... I do get completely disoriented at times especially at great heights

No way Sherlock  :P IL-2 Sturmovik's stuff wont be in FH2 so why not simulate the same info with other stuff.

A hud plus head movement is possible in BF2, but not the moving altimeters which people here were speaking about.
