Damn you

This weekend I watched The Godfather Part I and Part II, I just love the whole trilogy.

Part II is one of my favorites movies of all time, I just love how it tells both the story of Vito and Michael but they are taking place in different areas and in different times. And the end with the birthday... Coppola did get everything right here.

It is a serie, i know, but still, i find it worth mentioning

Black lagoon

Its a japanese cartoon. Yes. But it is a special one. No fancy magic girls, ninja samurais,Gaint goddam robots, Space battles, Pokemons or Furries.

The story follows a team of pirates/mercenaries known as Lagoon Company, that smuggles goods in and around the seas of Southeast Asia in the early 1990s.[5] Their base of operations is located in the fictional city of Roanapur in Thailand, and they transport goods in the 80-foot (24 m) Elco-type PT boat Black Lagoon. When on land, they move around and conduct business using Benny's 1968 Plymouth Road Runner, although in episode 24 he's seen driving a 1965 Pontiac GTO after his Roadrunner is blown up in episode 17. Lagoon Company does business with various clients, but has a particularly friendly relationship with the Russian crime syndicate Hotel Moscow. The team takes on a variety of missions—which may involve violent firefights, hand-to-hand combat, and nautical battles—in various Southeast Asian locations and when not doing much, the members of the Lagoon Company spend much of their down time at The Yellow Flag, a bar in Roanapur which is often destroyed in firefights.

Anyone who likes the genres=   Action, Adventure, Crime fiction, Black comedy and Guns. It is a reccomendation. And i DO recommend you watch the DUBBED english version instead of the origenal japanese. The dubbing is EXCELLENT. The voice actors play the roles of the characters perfect and truly in their role.

For info, i'll gladly help you in PM.

Sounds good but still, I have found so many animé's where the layout looks awesome but when you see it it's decent but still corny

Is it corny?

hell no. I am at episode 10 now (26 episodes) and i enjoyed each and every episode.

This one is worth watching. This anime is like Gundam wing. If you look at the gundam series they are full of dipshits gaint robots without a single amount of realism. They are MASSIVLY popular in Japan.
Then came Gundam wing, wich was a spinoff. It had robots, but they more set up in a realistic way. AKA it made sense. Gundam wing was a gaint succes in Europe, but only average in japan.

Black lagoon is like gundam wing. It is a anime serie, wich makes sense. No magic girls, gaint wtf robots, furries, wizards,Ninja samoerais or that weird stuff

Plus the main characters are great. Especialy Revy. She has a Dark yet amusing personalty

EDIT=OH Yes! Episode 4-7 has U BOAT und Neo Nutzi's!! Really , they where EPIC episodes

Nokas - 8/10

Good movie based on Norway's largest bank robbery, which took place only 20 minutes from where I live, so it was sort of special.

Event Horizon

Quote
Set in the year 2047 the story concerns the sudden reappearance of a prototype spaceship (the Event Horizon of the title) which vanished on it's maiden voyage seven years previously. A salvage ship called The Lewis And Clark is sent out to investigate and brings along Dr William Weir (Sam Neil), a physics expert originally responsible for the ship's creation. They dock with the Horizon but find no signs of life and as they set about making repairs, the crew begin to experience hallucinations and sense that they are not alone...

I recorded this off the TV last week. Very enjoyable Sci Fi, like a cross between Solaris and Alien (without the alien!)

8/10  :)

Event Horizon
...
8/10  :)

Good call on the 8/10. I'd give it that as well. I had a GF over one night and watched it with her and the next day she was still taken by this movie.

Event Horizon! Cult classic 8)

Yesterday, I watched 44 Minutes: The North Hollywood Shoot-Out (TV 2003)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0362389/

It's a bit underrated, but if you like shoot-out movies, you'll surely like this. A solid 7,5. Especially for a non-theatrical release. Don't let Michael Madsen leading scare you off, he's ok in this one ;)

Oh, and an honourable mention for Machette. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0985694/

When you're often one of the few laughing in the theatre when limbs start flying around, this is for you ;D. An 8.

<<< SPOILER ALERT >>>

I have a bit of a love-hate thing with Event Horizon. Starts out really well, impressive tension build-up, but the third act just ruins everything. Suddenly the whole premise of a black hole/alternate dimensions gets watered down to Sam Neill being a psycho.
That said, everytime it comes on, I watch it again. And again it gets under my skin. The small videoclip they find is truly one of the most unsettling things I've seen in movies. It's mostly the director's fault. Paul W.S. Anderson has a good heart for pulpy entertainment, the guy simply can't direct sh*t (Oh Ms. Yovovich, what on earth DO you see in that guy?). Event Horizon, Soldier, Resident Evil, Alien Vs. Predator, all good premises but shoddy execution.

So yeah, kind of a cult classic and I should've named it in my guilty-pleasures conversation I had recently.

<<< END OF SPOILER ALERT >>>

Last movie I saw: Ben X [B, 2007]
A cool little Belgian movie about an autistic/Asperger-Syndrome-having student (Ben) who gets bullied a lot in real life and escapes into his favorite MMORPG Archlord (as Ben X). When he gets pushed over the edge by his classmates he looses it and plots revenge.

Being an Aspie myself (for lack of a better word) this movie actually made me quite emotional, and any movie that manages that gets my thumbs up. But apart from the autism-angle (which, apart from the story/plot, is also manifested in the editing, characters and cinematography) it's simply a well made low budget film that makes the best of it's budget and actors. A good part of the movie takes place in the fantasy realm of the game which can easily fall flat, but Ben X makes it work. Movies like this always make me wonder why Belgians make such good movies while the dutch movies are usually uninspired sub-par affairs.

So, highly recommended, although for non-dutch speaking people it might not work. A lot of Ben X's dia-/monologues are based on wordplay which doesn't translate very well. The title itself is already a problem since it leans on the phonetical pronounciation of the name, meaning "Am Nothing" in dutch (Ben X => "ben niks").

So you might not like it the way I did, but still, give it a chance.  :)

FH2 is the game, DarklyDreamingDexter is the name.
