this is likely an issue with a anti virus on your pc judging by your description.

Ok I got into the game. The first map I loaded was point du Hoc. Loading reaches 100% and then I get CTD.

I restart PC.

when I rejoin server , map has changed to Studienka. Same thing happens again, 100%. then CTD. I retry, manage to get into the game and can see spawn screen but then 10seconds pass and I get CTD!!!

EDIT I managed to get a screenshot of this problem. I changed the textures to medium to see if this would remedy the constant CTD but to no avail. I got this instead:



EDIT 2: I tried a Repair in the launcher , turns out 755MB was missing from install. I will wait for repair to finish and try fh2 again,.

EDIT 3: still get same error as above (even after repair). I was able to run around villers bocage for a good 2minutes tho. so the repair seems to have diminished Ctd somewhat.

EDIT 4: I did not realized 2.61 was released. I am going to uninstall fh2 completely and download the 2.61 via torrent and see how it goes.

I solved my problem with C++ 2015. First uninstalled existing version via add/remove programs menu. Then installed an alternative version...

I had two packages on hard drive (see below)



Version 14.29.30037.0 gives the error (digital signature timestamp is 28 September 2019)

Version 14.24.28127.4 is OK (digital signature timestamp unknown)

@hhctx I think your error I recognise from a long time ago, can be because of corrupt profiles folder and/or install. Try to refresh profiles folder, located in Libraries>my documents (in windows 7). If that doesnt work, reinstall game - ensure you have enough space on hard drive when you reinstall the mod.

@ekiso. I have reinstalled this component, yes, and twice. I read on internet problematic missing file has to be in same folder as the executable. I will keep trying for solutions. I just hope that once I get in that the CTD problem is gone and is just a fluke caused by improper 7z extract the first time round.


@alubat. Ok thanks for the confirmation. Btw I'm on XP so I dont have to mess with ALchemy at all. What's your in game name btw?

I will check out the config file once I get mod working. If I recall correctly this fixes missing buggy/missing EAX correct?

I uninstalled and cleared profiles folder and re-downloaded the 1.4Gb standalone launcher (instead of copying pre-download 7z file and pasting contents into fh2 program files folder).

Then follow the procedure...



Cannot start game at all now. I always get the last red error message.


I have all dependencies installed. Last version of 2.58 worked.

CTD Issue

Very frequent CTDs now - 2.6 is unplayable.
I never got to play flavion (the first map I got to load up), on 64 or 16 layers. I just got CTD a few seconds in.

I booted up El Alamein in 32 Create Local and I got a CTD on that too a few minutes running around on the plateau. I will try other maps and will report back soon.

I rarely got CTDs on 2.58, once a session and i play almost everyday,

Hopefully this will not be an obstacle to play the mod!!

Just got CTD trying to join operation mars.   :'(
Going to re-download 2.6 standalone and update via launcher to see if it was my dodgy install (I copied pre-download 7z archive torrent & unpacked it in correct directory...

Sound Issue
I have found a bug in 2.6 that was not in previous version. See video below.
Essentially the radio plays double snippets. I have restarted PC and loaded up the map multiple times and it still occurs. It seems to only happen in ultra high sound mode (I have and use creative xfi - I am an ardent fan of this sound engine this is why I play the mod). It does not happen on High / Hardware Sound settings. I also checked the music player on 16 purple heart lane and it does not happen with that on xfi. Strange!

I think game could do with more easter egg pick up kits like the winchester. Not unrelaistic for this to happen in ww2.

I was thinking about this last night but not to the same degree...i.e. more subtle.

for example

Beyond a certain rank one should get

1 extra smoke for Squad leaders. (but only two can be live at any one time, as it currently is)

Extra clip of pistol ammo for SL/s or other kits with pistols.

1 extra mine for Engineers. (but only on larger/african maps. 5 isnt enough on sidi rezgh for e.g, desert maps have less statics overall and placing mines seems always like a waste of time. It is hardly rewarding waiting a 40mins only for a tank to drive thru your minefield because your 5 mines are 10 in-game meters apart.)

Binocs for AT. (perhaps with ability to place arty markers removed).

Small things that only add a little bit more weight to a ww2 typical loadout.

While this would make 'deployed' loadouts not exactly historically accurate, whats not to say a hypothetical soldier would not make use of things found on the field? Soldiers would definately grab a pair of binocs from an enemy combatant in ww2, it's not unrealistic. A nice touch would be make the binocs at spawn, that of the opposing team.   ;D
