We are back this week to present a render of another lightly skinned vehicle. This one however, will be better suited to the green hills of Italy rather than frozen tundras of Russia.

FH2 does not have any Italian maps.....so  8)

most of our efforts are directed at finishing our remaining Africa, Normandy, and Battle of the Bulge maps

From the 2.4 changelog discussion:

A short Google search lead me to battle for Kasserine Pass. There was a German operation called "Frühlingswind".
I wish that Battle of Keren will make it to the official next release (African map with Italians) I don't think we will see Americans in Africa as it needs new player models etc. so there won't be Kasserine Pass map, do not expect any Italian maps also as it is completely new front...

Not really. For a Kasserine map we need M3 lee's and diffrent aircraft. Also 37mm AT guns

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/76_mm_divisional_gun_M1942_%28ZiS-3%29

Armour penetration table for AP Projectile BR-350A

Distance, m    Meet angle 60°, mm    Meet angle 90°, mm
100                              67                                  82
500                              61                                  75
1000                            55                                  67
1500                            49                                  60
2000                            43                                  53

These data were obtained by Soviet methods of armour penetration measurement (penetration probability equals 75%).
They are not directly comparable with western data of similar type.

the thing was very effective versus the early german tanks and the shell reached supersonic speed (thus the german slang name "ratsch bumm"), but panthers and tigers were rather save. if you look at that table it seems it can barely penetrate a panzer IV H at 100 metres with its regular round (edit: speaking about the hull, not the turret).

Not necessarily aircraft (though that would be a good bonus - P-38 is teh fap and could replace Mustang in Cobra since some G/H's externally almost identical to F were still in service in 1944; P-39 is almost as much fap and would be needed for the Eastern Front anyway; P-40 is almost a Forgotten Hope, and if you use D/E, aka Kittyhawk Mk I/Ia, could be used by the Commonwealth as well on NA maps, and later on the Eastern Front too), just different skins. During the North African Campaign, USAAF operated three groups of Spitfire Mk Vb's.

Thats why the Zis-2 needs to be added aswel

Also, keep in mind that soviet Penetration testing was done with regular manufactured ammo. German and americans often hand crafted the shells during testing to make sure there where no faults at all and it was in the best quality possible.

North Africa is a Medditerranian climate, not desert like Lybia and Egypt.  They even get snow.  So green uniform's aren't THAT bad (I should know, I live in the same climate, in a region called Los Angeles :P).

But yes, playermodels and etc would remain same.  Only thing would be reskinned tanks, the Lee, and the 37mm AT gun, plus the 37mm AT mounted on jeeps.

It's half naked people on boats. That's all.
Here in Finland we call that "summer".

Well I meant that as in game, not in real life. I haven't seen much vegetation on FH2 african maps and what little there is, it's not really green.

So Irene also affected FH2. Katia on her way? Best of luck! Nice update, and I bet there will be quite some surprises yet in the next patch, as always.

I can't wait to yell in FH2-Russian. Where VOIP is concerned, I'm also well underway, thanks to a great Russian/Bulgarian co-worker in the hospital. We often pump each other up when things hit the fan, using a wild variety of Dutch, German and Russian ;D

Because there are no FH maps that take place in the terrain the americans fought in :P

Yeah you understand why I was trying to say.
But we will need the browning 1917A1, lee, new skin, some new anti tank canon, new aircraft etc.
