I agree, great job on that model! Is is just me or the tracks look a bit low poly?

The tracks you're looking at in the editor will not render alpha texture maps properly, ingame they look different. If you want to see it properly go to the modding section and find Remduls Meshviewer.

If you wonder now what an alpha texture or alpha mapping is:
it's a technique in 3D computer graphics where an image is mapped (assigned) to a 3D object, and designates certain areas of the object to be transparent or translucent.

Typical example are tank tracks.. they would end too high poli.

I think it's Max 9, not 2009.

yes max9 is the right version to export properly to bf2... unless someone builds a new exporter

Nice to see an update, the map looks great!  ;D I only have one question, with the rise of 128 player server, why make the map smaller?  Or does it just look that way? I feel like alot of the map is in the red.

The map is pretty large. There is not only 1 size of a map's ground area, so basically you can increase the terrain size you like to work with and build the surrounding area straight on it. Minimaps can be (if looking at the full pic) misleading.

We will probably stretch the update pause even longer. There are times were everything is moving slowly. There is still a lot of unshown stuff, but no one is currently taking renders.

And I appreciate the answer, however, wouldnt high res retextures make the game look better? Just out of curiosity. I suppose that my high end settings could run it easily. Of course, it isnt a priority as of yet.

Not really feasible. Textures were made for the size they are used. Redoing all textures for that is not something anyone here aims for or would be a great benefit.
But as Natty said, the closer you go to objects the more you notice it. You have this still in modern games upon some closeup distances.  :)
