It's pretty well made, but the design of some of the maps is rather frustrating, being either completely or almost completely linear for vehicles. The resulting battles feel like you're fighting in tunnels, barely being able to fit 2 tanks in the narrowest sections. Added to this that you cannot hit the enemy main base defence tower without being exposed to it and the entire enemy complement of vehicles and the fact that repairing the main base defence is much more efficient than damaging it, makes the entire map unplayable. Add air strikes and a scoring system that heavily favours defending teams to the mix and you end up with a very frustrating whole.
The maps you are talking about, are the classic C&C renegade maps. Wich simply cannot be ommited from this game. The next versions include more maps wich are more suited to Renegade X faster gameplay.
I have clocked 5 hours in this game. Infantry combat is much more better then in Renegade 1. Also in Renegade, the higher your class, the better your performance, no mather what your skill. This has changed alot in Renegade X. Even the free infantry classes are pretty usefull to the skilled player.
Vehicle combat wise, again major improvements made, altough work still needs to be done. GDI finnaly has a proper working MLRS. And no longer does arty whoring define the result in the game.
