@ Num & whitebaron:
Have you guys tried running FH2 in a window? It should give you an error message when it crashes.

To run FH2 in a window: Go into your shortcut's 'Properties' and add +fullscreen 0 to the target line.
It should look like this: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\FH2.exe" +fullscreen 0

...removing the pagefile completely helped a lot in my case to reduce crashes in general...

I always thought the bigger, the better when it came to pagefiles.

thats a BF2 error  that we experience since BF 1.5

maybe you should try  a new full install
uninstall and delete everything BF2/FH2 related, also clean you registry of that stuff and "my documents folder" (make backup since your player profile with config etc is saved there).

then make a full
reinstallation
bf2 + patch 1.41 + patch 1.5
fh2 2.2 full version

any strange software installed ?
some anti virus or firewall ?

did you try to host a local game ?

did you try windowed mode ?

does bf2 work (just bf2 no mods) ?

running out of options here, when exactly does the error occur ?  you said map load, but when it loads textures, geometry, etc any special point or % when it crashes ?

Do you have any disc drive emulator software like Alcohol 52/120%?

If so then more than likely your going to get bounced by EA's insertion of copy protection into the game now that the last update has done away with the need for the disc to be in the drive tray.

Welcome to the world of EA.

I have the original game.

Please reread my post. I did not say anything about having the original game.

I am having the exact same crash as post 1. I had trouble getting the game to even start for awhile until I run it as administrator. The game starts up fine now and I can log in but when I double click on a server its an instant crash to desktop. I have just recently put windows 7 on my PC and I used to have XP and had PR (Project Reality) which worked fine. All my programs are still here in Program Files (x86) from when I had XP so I tried running PR, it started up fine but when I double clicked on a server the game insta crashed just like with FH2.

Also I started a single player game in FH2 and played around just fine (Bots are supposed to act retarded right?) There must be a way to fix this I would like to hear any ideas before I decide to do a full re-installation.
