[BF2Editor] Where are the Staticobjects?

Hi guys.

I started mapping last night.. and i think im going pretty Well.

I know how to place Static Objects and spawn points. Today.. i was reading Wiki, North Africa Campaign.

Something that came to my mind was.. "Jesus!.. FH2 doesnt have any UK vs Italy Open Map like El Alamein!". So.. searching i found an interesting battle. Battle of Marmarica.

I really dont know if Italy har Armor but i can add it. Anyways.. i have the map in a paper, seems to be ok imo.


When i loaded the BF2Editor.. under "Level Editor", the FH2 List is Empty (?).

Now.. i got a pic of It.. maybe you can give me a hand.






Btw.. how i can place water? Help appreciated :D

Follow the tutorial Fenring wrote about setting up the editor and you will be able to see those objects

Hmm.

I cant Download the LightmapSamples.. gives me a 404 Error.

I can DL the FH2Lightmaps 2.15 instead of that one?

Also.. you dindt answer me how i can place water  :P

both those links are the same.

And in order to place water goto your tweaker tab on the lower left hand side, and select the tab on the right. (I'm doing this all off memory, can't remember its name) There should be 4 drop down menus. One will be called water, expand that and there should be an option called "Seafloor level" or something. The default should be -10000, just change that to something more like 10.

Ok finally i got water.

Now i just have to change the sky and im done.

But the water has different colors.. i think i messed it up  :-\

Now i have the FH2 Lightmaps samples.. going to configure FH2 for the bf2Editor.. FH2 mapping here i come!

Back here again

To add the FH archives in to the editor.. i think i have to:

Create a "Copy of FH2".

Move it to BF2editor/mods (?)

Move files needed.

I really dont understand that tuto..

no no no.

Ok first goto Battlefield 2/mods/fh2 (we will refer to this as your root directory) and create a new folder called objects. Now go back to your root directory and you should see several zip files named objects_client and objects_server. There should be 8-10 of them. Extract all of them too that new folder you created.

Next load up the editor, but don't load a map just yet. Now goto Mod Manager at the op and select the Editor content tab. Select all the checkboxes, hit ok, then load up a map and your good.

And all of that can be skipped by just DLing the Lightmaps? it contains 3 folders called "StaticObjects" "vegetation" "Water".

Or thats apart?

those are different. those files are used by the editor to determine how light is cast in and around your static objects. I would keep them handy but you won't need them until you are closer to finishing your map.
