Some of the plot was a bit cliché but I really enjoyed it. The YT link is great, there's also a torrent out if you sail those seas. There's a lot of nice details and nods to people who know the actual history.

One word: cliché. I must admit that I had a couple of laughs. Overall it is a very american subject, even more full of pathos, up to a level where it will appear ridiculous to a larger part of the audience outside the US.

I watched about 10 minutes of it & decided instead to stick a fork in my eye......
;D

The hot chick from Riddick plays in this. Another reason to watch it. :P

And DJ Qualls. Rat from the core, Setz from breaking bad
I enjoyed this pilot, really looking forward to see more of this

It´s 1962 and they are still using Kar98k and Arisakas?
Well, I liked it anyway.

Probably only for occupying countries.

Many of german weapon advancements happend because of the stalemate on the eastrenfront
perhaps thats why things like the STG 44 were never developed?

Those advancements would have happened anyways in this timeline, since many were already underway before the stalemate, and invasion of the USA would have meant new weapon advancements. Also, Considering the date being 1962, weapon tech would still have advanced anyways, though at a slower rate.

Well ye, since there was no real threat
The only free country left in the entire world was....Canada

Is it worth watching ?
It is yes. ;)
It can only get better after this 1st/pilot episode.

To add to that.
In May 1938 the german heer signed a contract with haenel-Schmeisser to develop a weapon that used a mid range cartridge. They used a cartride devoloped already at that time for a project from the early 30's. it was known as the polte cartridge at that time and later would be the 8mm kurtz. The basics of the STG where laid years before the war started.

Continued on after the first episode, only one left now for me in this first season. I really like it, and I encourage anyone else to give it a try if you haven't already. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised it's good, since it's originally a Phillip K. Dick work and he was a great writer. If you like Blade Runner, you'll like this.
