General Discussion / Re: 96 Player Server Test today
« on: 29-07-2012, 00:07:50 »
I think DocHawkeye was referring to the fact that maps were designed and tested for 64 player (32v. 32), not 128 players (64 v. 64).
Some maps will benefit others won't, and would required to go back and make changes.
Which won't happen, and I doubt the devs would go for 128.(I can't remember who it mentioned it.)

Note; I stopped playing right before European Campaign hit.
But do not get me wrong, I am very fucking excited about this turn of events.

Now all I need is enough sinmoles to upgrade my rig for this.

I dummo, but is most likely he didn't know what he was getting into when he volunteer and once he realized what was going on in the camp he probably was too much of a chicken shit to do anything fearing he would end up in a gas chamber.

Should he be in trial? Sure, innocent until proven guilty.

This seem more of a symbolic point than any real kind of justice.

It took almost 9 years and.....

11,758 - Total death toll of all forces. (US: 1,482)
16,000 - Wounded British, American, and Canadian. (US: 10,944)
34,000+ - Civilians dead.

Is his death really more important than all the rest to celebrate?

Obvious bait is Obvious MOOSE.  :-\

It won't change the situation, this is premature jubilation.
Until the boys and gals come home, it shouldn't be a celebration.

then you didnt read anything i wrote, he is the legitimate leader of libya, sarkozy had no problem inviting him to france and make oil deals.

And AGAIN AGAIN i write it in my posts, who are other countries to go around the world and kill people in the name of "freedom"?  and ill call you flat out an idiot if you think this is about the libyan people.

And again i can give you a long list of countries where there is oppression in any form,  feel free to buy a weapon and a plane ticket and bring them all "freedom".

This isnt a good versus evil , nor is it a black or white situation, nor is it a contest to be as anti gaddafi as possible by cheering on for more war.

No one has a stake in this but the libyan people, unless you confused people with oil.

Yes and he still is. Oil for arms deal happen. It also happens with Saudi Arabia and other oil countries. (Don't be a snub.)

Damn if they do damn if they don't. 100 missiles each worth one million dollars..who do you think is picking up the tap?( The Libyans )

People can also freely buy tickets and head to Hatti and help with the humanitarian effort.

Like I stated before he could have remained in power very easily by complying with the resolution.
What would the U.N done then? Like hell they would have sent ground troops and like hell Gaddafi would have steeped down.
It will prolong the war and it could all have been avoided.
What is done is done.

all what you describe is part of war, and that why i oppose war, there is no "clean" war. If you want those airstrikes to happen then you support the escalation of the war.

its a civil war where outside countries have no business with, whatever killing goes on is libyans problem, either they win it or lose it.

you cant go bomb libya and cry omg mass murder while milions died and still die in sudan congo and so forth where no one gives a shit about, you cant go kill thousands of rebels and civilians in iraq, afghanistan, pakistan as an occupation force and then tell gaddafi he cant fight them.

About the UN.... its useless when countries dont vote on logic and morals, and its misused by politicians who justify whatever do with "we got the UN on our side!", and if morals and logic are applied ina  resolution someone is bound to veto it over and over.

If you really believe that this is about the libyan people then you are no smarter than those who thought iraq was about WMDs.

Every nation has stakes on the outcome of this conflict. Why do you think China obtained its vote? China has been investing in Africa for a while, developing infrastructure. They will loose all of their contracts and it is better for them to play nice with the African Union.

Who does Gaddafi represent? What message does that bring to the world? You can be oppressive as you want and if the population wants reform, just dig a couple of holes and fill them.

If you so wish to stay in your high horse and preach us the good gospel then by all mean do.
Just don't be such a snub about it.

@Stefan
What would you have done when the Galactic Empire was pummeling the Rebel Alliance base at Hoth?
Does Emperor Palpatine have the right to put down rebel scum?

What is the U.N moral obligation if any?

I do see the result as prolonging the war into one of attrition. They gave Gaddafi chances to stop and address the issues of the protesters. He began to crackdown which lead to more violence and escalated to an armed conflict that spread a cross the country. He began then to crackdown on the towns and kill any and all opposition. Even admitting it on TV that he will do so with out mercy.
So what would you do when the despot of your country is willingly going to find you and kill you, just because you want reform?
When it came down to business were he could have shown restrain and comply with the resolution (were more or less he would still remain power if he had) he didn't.
(The Fallujah comparison is very poor; foreign nation occupying your country: A bullshit war.)

The outcome of Gaddafi wining this conflict will amount to a mass murder of not just of those fighters but of their immediate families as well.
How many may have already been killed by his security forces in town under his control? (Doctor were deliberately being shot in the early days of fighting, and hospital are occupied by the government army.)
We cannot clearly say that towns regained by the opposition will welcome then with open arms, but more likely they will.

The opposition are executing black who unfortunately may be or may not be mercenaries, whom have showed no concern for civilians (doctors have been shot). I personally don't have any pity for the mercenaries. But for the actual soldier who are held at gun point to fight I do feel sorry.

Also those other nation have Monarchies in power which in itself is a whole different kind of beast.
(I don't want to get more into that subject.)

Sometimes but.....
Gunning down civilians, shelling your own cities, going on national TV to say "No mercy, we will kill then all rable rable " and lying to the international community about a ceasefire.

Which leaves him with a score of null.
The government has no credibility. I do wonder about the population under their control though.....

Side note:
Quote
Libya state TV is reporting that airstrikes have killed 48 people and wounded 150 in "civilian areas"
Unless they allow reporters already in the ground go and see.... horse shit.

Aljazeera Reports: From the live Blog.

Canadian media reports say there are plans to send six CF-18 fighter jets to help enforce a no-fly zone over Libya, broadcaster CTV said citing government sources, adding that they will fly alongside US, British and French aircraft, and those from other countries.

Edit: Egypt's military has begun shipping arms over the border to Libyan rebels, with US knowledge.
Quote
The shipments - mostly small arms such as assault rifles and ammunition - appear to be the first confirmed case of an outside government arming the rebel fighters. Those fighters have been losing ground for days in the face of a steady westward advance by forces loyal to [Gaddafi].

@Zoo

Well this is what I thought.

Gaddafi is asking for it. Every time I read on what he spout out of his face it irritates me; he taunts the world.
I do hope we get an air strike of his military.

The last Administration was a large fuck up and I doubt any one in the current one is gun hoe to do anything. Economic situation and now Japan.(Which to me is an excuse to not do anything.)
Those two wars can't be ever justified. Rumsfeld pretty much admit it in his book "Hey we fucked up, but for the better."

This statement if ever is made will make me just loose it.

"The Bush's administration go ahead for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Afghanistan helped sparked democracy in 2011."

On another point.

Well then, were are the Arab Nations on this?
They are all for the No-Fly-zone, but fuck, they want western forces to go in.
They don't seem to want to intervene to something that risks their stability and the Saudi's could care less.

It always gets worse before it get better.

Well Braney, the anti-Gaddafi forces say they have retaken Brega.
They are organized(more than before) since apparently those rebel forces came from Benghazi, where they have been training.
But it may be a little too late.
