About a year ago the forum software was updated from smf 1.x to smf 2.x.
The old Theme "Warzone" was still available, but was no more properly working with the new software.
So we re-created it for smf 2.x (more or less) as the "ForgottenHope" Theme. This is the default theme now for a long time.
Some images got changed there lately and some bugs got fixed (the cursed search box), so I decided to clean up the theme folder today and disabled the old themes. This change affects at max the 18 people that were using it, compared to a few thousand users of the default theme.

But of course, if there is anything that could be improved, tell us and we can make further updates to the ForgottenHope theme.

What!? This was changed a year ago? I've had the flashing dots up until now too. I never purposely chose the warzone theme, however.

I could have sworn there was a little facebook/twitter thing that followed me around on the right hand side of the screen.

On the forums I mean.

But not all the time though.

Sometimes it showed up when I was on my phone and blocked half the screen.

I think it's like an internet poltergeist or something, being mischievous and only showing up to do things to the page and annoy you when you're not expecting it. At first I thought it had changed the stars to confuse me.

Edit: Nevermind the poltergeist social thing is still there and it was giving me a funny look like I had a cookie it wanted but was waiting for me to drink my milk then take it.

Oh I'm sure I'll get used to it.  But I still want to know how to tell in the sub forums if new threads/new thread posts have been viewed or not.  Previously, it would show new posting/new threads in bold, and read topics in normal font.  Now, I just see all stickied threads in bold, and all other threads in normal font, without any way of detirmining if a thread has been newly posted in or not.

You're right Mudra, that is missing. Ive just been clicking the subforum with a gold star and looking at the author of the last post in the thread. I got used to lurking the forum without logging in from friends computers, I think. Now I am very aware of this. gaaaaahhhh I want boldy titles back. I thought that was a forum standard?

WHich isn't new at all Life can be so simple sometimes

Only thing I noticed apart from the stars (which is better imo, blinking dots were a bit annoying) is the fact that sig text isn't white anymore, but a shade of grey. Which is OK for me.

Erm nothing changed for me? No gold stars. nothing. Ive been using a layout wich resembled the old one as much as possible, and now i hear something has changed, but i only have 3 layour options to change too, but 2 of them are the same as the one as i currently use, and the other one is the white one.

Stars and posts with...less border?

It's new to me within the last couple days.

They also added little triangle boxes to show which threads have new posts...

Those boxes have been there like... three years. The stars are the only new thing that I see. :/

To be honest, I did not realize that anything really changed besides the Stars and I am perfectly fine with it. Some  lines here, some different grey-tones there maybe, i don't know and I feel not that it has become worse in any way. It's the same difference to me.

I've used those before, but...really?  That little tiny thing?  What was wrong with the old style of showing if a thread is unread....

The stars can only be seen in my Windows 7 laptop. But when I use my PC (with Windows XP), they still show the old blinking dots.
