Aug. 09/2011 Gamespy review of 2.4
« on: 17-08-2011, 00:08:25 »
Hey guys,   visit link and give feedback on what I consider to be a very poor article about FH2. The author glosses over much of the mod details but at least it's some press.

It wasn't a bad article, and imo he mainly said only good things about FH2, that should help bring more players to the mod... the only bad things he said seemed to have been directed at engine limitations (jumping over waist high statics, BF2 vehicle physics, etc...)

I laughed pretty hard when he kept describing the maps as "huge" and "bigger than some African nations" tho (I wonder how he described PR)

All in all I think its good for the mod... People who saw this article def won't read it and think 'man this mod sounds like crap'

no, those are flaws we made. A good review is not a review that only writes good stuff. A good review is one that highlight problems as well, which this one does.

The sound bug isn't a bug, is just that the fountain played a vanilla sound, and badly coded.

When it comes to traversing anything that isn't flat terrain, it's a coin toss as to whether you'll be traveling across the ground smoothly. This especially applies to vehicles, with the dated physics system struggling to accommodate your halftrack hitting a pothole.

Another good reason to give two speeds to vehicles ...

How would that help?

Well, objects would be easier to avoid so I guess there would be less weird collision problems.

And that's why we have..... roads? Personally it makes sense to me... Want a nice smooth ride? Use a road!

Yup - Was quite the reason why Tanks piled up on their way to Arnhem. Why didn't they go through the countryside, you might ask? Indeed, why didn't they.

@Beufort...
Yer, but it isn't FH2... Use search and see for yourself. Non-Crosshairs may have been a PR thing, but look well, and I can bet there is one major lobbyist here (Who I might add, is probably clicking his heels as we speak). I am just saying, don't make my idea for FH2 come across as ridiculous, especially why I am still lobbying for it, is all. You can put your fists down now.
