Great news, great map, great update! Brings good memories back from epic battles at FH1-Map Omaha-Charlie Sector....I'm 100% sure that this map will be pure fun! Can't wait to get my hands on a bunker MG42 and do the classic "spray & pray" ;)

I can already see the grab-fest for the pickup MGs!

Well that was disappointment. Weren't there MG-42's in bunkers in real Omaha Beach landings?

Are you talking about the observation bunkers you see in SPR and so? No, they weren't there, not like that.

theres only one [concrete bunker with mg] with very limited sight to the beach. its main purpose was to cover the beach exit/entrance.

german concrete defending positions werent placed with direct sights/firing positions direct to the sea. they were set to cover the beach in its width.
but of course there are enough mg nests (sandbags) and trenches to give direct fire ;)

from the guessing thread.

To be clear: there's an MG34 in the mentioned bunker, MG42s (bipods and lafettes) are in the open nests ;)

Ah, ok. Then I guess this is the only Omaha Beach map, I know in games what is somewhat realistic. I thought, that the observation bunkers with mg's were like in SPR in real landings, as I think there were military advisors and/or veterans helping with filming of SPR.

If people are interested I could do a devblog describing the beach defenses and how they work.
