I like the idea of a promotional department for Forgotten Hope 2. There should be a group either officially or unofficially of people who are willing to help promote FH and bring people into this community. This could apply to the youtube channel, forum postings, and anything else that could be thought up!

I just got to thinking, why isnt Forgotten Hope listed as a group?

Well for facebook, users should be asked to suggest forgotten hope as a friend to other players. Youtube videos can also be shown on facebook and other forums. Twitter as I stated earlier can be used for short updates or tid bits from the dev team.

Also one thing I need to add, I understand why some people don't want newbie players to join in on Forgotten Hope 2. I know the old crew from fh1 would like to stay the old crew forever, but without new player FH2 as a mod will fade away even as new stuff is developed. So lets keep this great mod going!  ;)

Well we can post on any forum about Forgotten Hope. We just have to post in the right section on any forum related to gaming. I will give you guys a list I have collected over time to help my clan find recruits. I will put it in the first post on this topic.

I made the copy paste mega post last time, perhaps we can do that again and hit three times as many sites or more. We just need to decide what we want to put on it and how it should look. Some neat photoshoping might be required. The focus should be on any first person shooter sites and even some simuation sites.

Another thing I have been tossing around is getting some attention in a gaming magazine. Back in the good old days of 1942 I remember that Eve of Destruction was featured in PC Gamer. Perhaps we could get a mention in the mods section if enough of us point it out to them.

Well lets try to keep on topic, this isnt about zombies, or fh mod balance, or project reality. Lets focus on getting more players and coming up with good ideas to achieve this. I would even like to get some input from the fh devs.

I really did like that Transformers video!  ;D

On the Twitter hatred, I am not a strong advocate for it, but it serves my clan as an effective way of communicating short updates or events. For Forgottten Hope it could announce news updates, upcoming Forgotten Honor Tournaments, and other community events such as the Community Game Night. I would say that any method that helps to get more people  informed and into the game is a good thing.

One idea that I had is a further embrace in social media. Does the FH2 mod team have a Twitter yet? That could be another way to help the mod go a bit viral.

One of the biggest flaws of Forgotten Hope is the small player base in North America. I think the primary reason for this is the lack of advertisement. I am well aware that the Forgotten Hope 2 team does not get paid for their amazing work and the cost of traditional advertisement is expensive.

During the 2.26 release of Forgotten Hope 2 I tried my best to work with several people on the forums, urging them to post topics and show screenshots in other forums to spread the word. I still believe that more people would play this amazing mod if they only knew about it. With the initial releases I remember some very cool instructional videos were posted on youtube. Over the last couple years some amazing wallpapers have been made as well. These were great ways to promote the mod.

While no one but the mod team knows when 2.3 will release, I would like for us to work together as a community, with the mod team, to come up with some ways of promoting FH2 better. I am confident we can come up with some clever ways to help drive people to try out Forgotten Hope 2. Please post any ideas you guys have and we can discuss!

Suggestions / Re: Are new menus being worked on?
« on: 01-08-2010, 22:08:12 »
I think new menus need to be designed as well. Setting the mod apart from Battlefield 2 is rather important. The mod is amazing when it comes to polish, everything looks great in game and better than stock BF2 ever was. Yet the menus still look like crap. While we all like new material, with maps and everything, I think most people could stand getting an update to the interface and waiting a bit longer to finish the maps and content.

Ya know that gives me a great idea. In the game during the day time a flock of birds can fly up warning the enemy that you are coming. I think it would be neat if there were a late afternoon/ night map that had the allies trip enemy flares when breaking through enemy lines.

Suggestions / Re: Bugging EA about the plane physics code
« on: 01-07-2010, 22:07:43 »
EA is currently applying one last patch to Battlefield 2142. Unfortunately, I think the last BF2 patch was literally the last patch for the game. The release of the DLC content was used to boost player counts and make the game more cross compatible with digital distribution. The last release was  big, fixed many bugs and released lots of maps for free. For people that bought a copy of BF2 for $10 that was a great deal.

I would love to see EA support their older titles better. In fact I think they could make lots of money over time on legacy games that started their most popular series, such as how Blizzard still patches Diablo II and Starcraft. Battlefield 1942 and Medal of Honor Allied Assault could use support as well but EA just makes games and moves on most of the time.

Maby they could just add a civilian walking his dog around Anctoville, like nothing is happening...

Suggestions / Re: Invasion of Manchuria
« on: 27-05-2010, 18:05:58 »
Well we can give the Japanese lots of tickets, some suicide kits, and plenty of small tanks. I think it could be a good battle. I am sure there was at least a few rough fights for the soviets in Manchuria, even if it was on the small scale, ambushes and such.
