believe me, it's even worse when your computer can display fh2 with all details but your internet connection kills you...

I'm happy when my ping goes down to 40, normally it's 60 and the game becomes unplayable when it goes >120. Well, I'll have better internet when I move next month ;D

10 useful tips.

1. Don't run naked in an open area, move along covers like hedges/walls so it is less likely for your enemy to see you.

2. Don't pop your head out of cover unless necessary.

3. When a bullet missed you, it must be someone that is trying to shoot you, get to cover.

4. When you're unsure of killing an enemy when you shoot, you better get to cover first then shoot, else you risk missing your kill and be killed by your target. Knowing your skills is important.

5. Don't stay near places that is obviously a "sweet spot" to hit your enemies, for example near windows that face your enemies, or that church tower. No amount of skills could keep you alive in those places. It is my habit to spam HE shells into church towers. (or riflegrenade)

6. Don't assault alone, don't sneak in groups. There are numerous examples where a crumpsy squadmember exposing the presence of a squad and the entire squad get HEed.

7. Don't be afraid of taking risks, if a tank spotted you in a house a high explosive shell would surely follow, sometimes you'll survive by dashing out or jump out of the house. Don't rely on a tank to rescue you. (Or don't pray that he'll leave you alone!)

8. Join a squad, as many said, especially if you're playing infantry. Your death is more worthy if you distracted your enemies.

9. Pay attention to friendly mine flags/friendly S mines. Don't play games when dizzy okay?

10. An enemy who spotted you would try to kill you, always have this in your mind. For example, you alone greying a flag near a bunch of enemies is not a good idea.

I'm used to pings over 250, so I suppose these tips would also work in lower pings. These helps you survive, but it doesn't mean that you could kill your enemies.

120 isn't the worst but starting from that ping I seem to have no chance at all in a firefight against someone with a better ping. I reckon the avarage ping isn't so bad but the spikes (up to 1000) really ruin my day because they tend to happen when there is action (i.e. other players).

OK, this is big. I'm gonna share my secrets with you.

1) Check your settings.

Fancy graphics are real nice and FH2 looks fucking awesome with high settings.
But for the best result, change them. Find what you like and what works for you.
My myself, can't play without at least medium regarding terrain. I love the blur effect too much.

Regarding settings, everything on low and view distance 100% is something that can really help sometimes depending on PC. It's kinda like that Top Gear episode where they gotta rebuild a big old family van to make it go a lap under a certain time. Those small changes here and there that makes the last millisecond that needs to come under that time.

2) Being aggressive

And kids, there's a difference between being stupid and being aggressive. Stupid is running towards machine guns, being aggressive means that you don't back down. When you attack you attack hard. Either you do it hard and fast or not at all. Don't save your ammo or grenades. Quick thinking is also important.

3) Think

Quick thinking is important, especially as a Squad Leader. Making quick decisions can be the key to victory or the the road to complete f4iL

4) Don't shoot your mates

Seriously, don't.

1. Kill enemys and dont die.

2. Use any plane with rockets.

3. dont go behind enemy lines because you are more likely to get tked than killed by enemy.

4. Throw poke ball when enemy is paralyzed or sleep.

5. look left and right to see beyond the fog view range.

6. prone when ever you see someone , some will call you fag and lame but thats real life training soldiers do.

7.  ???

8. ehhh , throw grenades if everything else above hasnt helped.  ;D

When assaulting/forward/behind enemy lines - Always steal/take a dead enemy's weapon; and if you have the time, check the ammo rounds, # of grenades, etc.  Swap back if you can't handle it.

When the heat increases, and several of the enemy are nearby, it makes it more difficult for them to single you out as an enemy; when you are firing on them from behind - they are more likely to think it is one of their own.

Even though I always prefer to play allies for personal reasons, the Germans have good rifles and other weapons.

When shooting long range, take your time and track the target... Don't shoot too early. This will give away your position. On ranges beyond 175 meters, the rifle round takes maybe 1/5 of a second or even more to travel the distance. Also play vanilla BF2 as sniper. This way you will familiarize with the sometimes ridicilous hitbox that certainly is NOT at the spot of the ragdoll... Also, in 90 % of the long range cases, the bullet drop is bigger than you think. Shoot 2, 3 or maybe as much as 4 milimetres (on your screen) over the head. After some time on the field, you will eventually hit maybe 60 % of the time at long ranges by doing this.

Use cover and concealment, always. You aren't Rambo. Pick your targets, sometimes the best decision is to lay low for a bit, and wait for a better target, the last thing you want is a stalemate. Because depending if you are behind enemy lines or not, it may not end in your favor. Quick and concise kills are always best.

As SL and Commander, always stay strategic. Remind squads/squadmates to follow  orders, communicate regularly, give your forces support or die being not credit to team in any way.

Bombers, if a ground force is requesting you to bomb some place, bomb it. For Stukas, don't use wind siren behind enemy territory especially when you're not in a dive ready to let hell break loose.

Fighters, if recon or bomber needs escort due to heavy enemy fighters or some infantry are getting raped by enemy air forces, go over there. Keep an eye for anything you can destroy, and don't waste explosive ammo on light aircraft unless its an emergency (Say, somehow a stuka's gunner exists and is giving you hell for firing or a recon is spotting you and ack acks have been fed your location.)

Recon is just a humanly oiloted UAV that can request artillery barrages. Doesn't make it any less important, as it can give important information on the enemy's position. Fly high, and medium if you have a forward artillery observer in your back seat so he can see something.

Tanks, you act as both anti tank and as a mobile infantry annihalater. Grants, take advantage of your duel heavy cannons and bring a gunner and gunner/driver. Support infantry in offensives, and they will guard you from AT infantry, and hopefully disable mines.

Scouts can be the deadliest infantry out there. They can call artillery, they can report enemy positions viewable on the minimap, they can deploy anti personnel mines, and have smoke grenades to cover a getaway after their own position is spotted. I suggest when you call arty though, you ask for whether you want smoke or HE.

As a last minute comment for transports, Ju-52 oughtta fly high as dang possible as should recon and drop over tactically helpful dropzones, which vary depending on the state of battle. Land, you should always keep moderately loaded with at least 3 or more troops and have yer MG duck often enough to avoid fire and still lay down hell for the enemy.

Rifle combat 1vs1:
When you engage enemies in the open, keep moving. Don't just sit, knee or lie put between two shots. Keep even moving while shooting at close distance/knife distance but don't use the ironsight. Moving targets are harder to hit. Always.

When you're being shot at and hide behind cover, don't come out as the rifle has been reloaded. Delay your emerge for a second. Most likely your enemy is already aiming at you, waiting for you to come out again. Due to the delay, he will lose patience and come out of his cover, for you to kill him.

Combat vs grenades:
When you hear a grenade warning, run towards the enemy shouting. The safest spot is where your enemy is standing, having tossed his grenade elsewhere. Most likely he didn't drop it on the spot to kill nobody but himself, did he? On maps where kits have 2 grenades, he'll stand there with his second grenade in his hand, which is totally useless in close combat.

General:
Think ahead. When you capped a flag, you should have considered already where to go next. The enemy will expect you to be on the flag, but not halfway between the flag and his spawn.

I usually imagine my own sounds with it, like `tjunk, tupdieyupdiedee` aaa enemy spotted, ratatatataboom
