i just chatted with a Finnish dude for about 20 mins. he was one of the more... interesting people I've met there.
Also got a new penfriend from Texas, had a nice chatter with a girl named Sarah from the East Coast and some rather aggressive discussions with a Mexican and a Rumanian because I didn't want to cyber with them...
I'm starting to like that site.

Ahem, you have posted pics of this gun (you made by yourself) on the very same forum and expect us to fall for this?
Shame on you Jürgen, or, in your language:

It's that easy.
Just make sure you don't press the "Run BF2 mod" button, it'll start BF2 with the chosen mod activated.
In FH2 this causes the b/w blurry ironsights bug (don't know if they fixed it in 2.2 though)

I browsed through the game files (ctrl+F is your best friend, guys) and found the farmer kit locations.
It does have a field dressing, but apart from that it's really just a pitchfork and a shotgun.
For those of you who want a hint:
The kit appears as a pitchfork stuck in the ground. Hmmm... Where would you put a pitchfork??

P.S.: Just noticed the Scottish Claymore, thanks for telling me. It doesn't seem to be ingame, though. No kit uses it.
So I just went ahead and made my own damn kit!
Yay!

But that didn't work... My FH crashed whenever I tried to start a map that has my modified kit in it. I think it has to do with the fact that all the game data was compressed using Unix, not Windows, but that's just a guess.

The greatest WTF moment in the history of FH2 happened on Saturday a couple of hours after the release of 2.2.
Full size Pointe du Hoc, epic climbing scene.
And all of a sudden, a friendly mortar round hits the cliff right on the spot where everybody's climbing the ropes, except me (I was getting the flamethrower in the meantime) and the commander back in the big comm radio boat.
Everybody on our team except the mortar guy, me and the commander died.
Yeah, that was an EPIC fail.

Nah, the Thompson sounds better then before.
It's way closer to "Tommy's Typewriter" now, I just love it.
But by far the best sound IMO is the M1897 Shottie, but that's just me, I love shotguns  ;D

BTW, how did you guys make the K98k sound? Someone slapped a plastic folder on a desk at school the other day and it was so close to that sound that I had the sudden urge to press Y, no kidding!

Alright, my turn.
I'll describe my best and my worst FH 2.2 experience.
I was playing on Pointe du Hoc (map size 32) as allies the other day. We already had the Farm CP and YAY, PITCHFORK!
So i grabbed the kit and went out into the killing fields repeatedly shouting "Charge!" and screaming in a badass way as I go. A SdKfz. 251 with 6 people in it somehow doesn't spot me. Even though it is chock-full of Jerries, none of 'em is mounting the rear MG (well, it's pointing at their side anyways, so why bother?) so I run behind it and follow it back into our territory, waiting for the perfect moment.
Just a few seconds after I started following it, the driver went straight into one of the craters, exposing the open top to me as he's driving out again.
Well, what can I say. 6 shotgun shells, 6 enemies. Do the maths.  ;D
I nearly got kicked for hacking because of that lucky moment.

For the other story, we stay on the same map but change sides and the player.
Imagine you're driving around in your Stug, firing your MG at every enemy soldier in sight. Suddenly, a guy in a german uniform with a Stahlhelm on and an MP40 in his hands runs past your precious piece of armor.
Hell, that must be one of them nasty allied spies! You fire about 20 rounds at him, managing to hit him once in the arm despite your obvious lack of aiming skills. He dives down behind a rock and starts screaming "cease fire" in german. That Yankee bastard thinks he can fool you by learning your language! You fire another 20 rounds at the rock he is hiding behind while he keeps shouting until he is muted for voice spamming.
Some teammate writes “CEASE FIRE” in all caps through the team chat. Bah, he must be addressing someone else, after all you’re shooting at an enemy spy, right?
As you stop firing that guy pops back up from behind his cover and turns his back at you, retreating slowly towards his territory. He must’ve forgotten that you’re there!
You dispatch him relatively fast by firing another 10 rounds at him, being rewarded with… A teamkill?? How can that be??

And, as you guessed it, the “Yankee Spy” was me. I immediately left the server and started banging my head to the wall until I was afraid I’d leave a mark there….

Believe it or not, the French were once a feared military force.
In fact, if you ask any Swiss people about the wars Switzerland was involved in the first thing they'll remember (after maybe the Independence War in the middle ages) is the French invasion led by Napoleon Bonaparte. Most people (including me) don't really know a lot about it, but the occupation ended around 1860 IIRC.
We haven't had any wars ever since. Swiss citizens are not even allowed to fight for foreign countries as mercenaries, so there's barely anything we could remember. We just got a couple of stories about WW2 aerial skirmishes with both axis and allies that got off their planned route and over Swiss territory and a nice sign on every border station that reads "Welcome to Switzerland - no wars since 54.385 days"

If you have 3 weapons to choose..

-No4
-StG44
-Fg42

Wich one would you pick Wraith ?  ;D

The MP44, definately. Except if I get a scope with that FG42, that might make it a little more useful on long ranges.
I was talking about the bolt action rifles already ingame when I said my favorite was the SMLE. Comparing it to automatic rifles is like comparing a Stuart tank to a Tiger II.

Or K98 hoodz ingame!

They already are in the game files. Feel free to add them into any kit (even though this only works in SP)
The Stielhandgranate 43 is in too IIRC.

Suggestions / Re: Reaload time

I think the reload times are fine - except the Beretta 34, it's reloading way too fast right now compared to the other pistols. Same goes for the Beretta 38.
(is it me or are both weapons using reloading animations from vBF2??)

One thing I'd like to talk about are the stripper clips. The animation makes it look like the cartridges go in just like that, you can see little to no effort in the movement of pushing them into the rifle's magazine.
I own a Schmidt-Rubin rifle (Model 1911 Carbine version) and have fired it every week for a couple of years now. From my experience I can say that it's a hell of an effort to push the rounds from the clip into the magazine and that that method works only slightly faster than just inserting each round by hand.
So I think it'd be nice if that part of the reloading animations in FH2 could be slowed down a bit on every rifle, not a lot, but just enough to give the player a feeling of how crude that mechanism is.
