help!!
« on: 13-09-2010, 15:09:23 »
I got some stupid son of a bitch virus that disables my task manager, my control panel, firewall settings and shit and its NUMBER (name) is "Security Tool", in system tray it says 875202944 and when I first saw it I killed its process in the task manager and now I can't cuz it won't allow me and says that it's a virus infected program, shit everything in my comp is infected then.

Course of action?

Should I copy FH2 and everything else worth saving to an USB stick or will it be infected too?

Son of a bitch shit fuck fuck fuck shit fuck....

Where on earth did you surf to get such a virus? Or worse yet, did you press on one of those "Your PC is under threat" banners and downloaded the potential 'antivirus' software.

Remember pirating (aka downloading) is like sex without a condom.

But to come back to your question, any program that hasn't run since you got yourself that virus most likely won't be infected. You could make a backup of the fh2 folder and the fh2.exe but if I were you, then I'd go for format c: /s.

1) unplug your net
2) download avira antivir (free version) on another computer, then copy the setup.exe into a usb-drive
3) start your computer in safe mode (keep hitting F5 while it starts up)
4) install and run avira
5) ???
6) profit!

if the virus has already altered/deleted the  taskmanger etc this could already be too late for this.
and you need to hit F8 not F5

you might kill the source but the damage is done.

if you have real sensitive data on that pc copy it to an external drive (empty if possible) then format the pc.

try the Passky way first though if it helps you might have saved yourself the time of a format and trying this only takes a few hours tops.

Thanks, will try that...but until I do I'll try to search the fucker and kill it manually or get the Unblocker so I can terminate it while it's running wild.

And no, the only suspicious thing I did lately was to install a cracked CoD4 lol

Some idiot colleague of mine did that.
"what viruses? I gotta remove them then!"

Ended up getting 10 icons on the desktop, all with porn pictures on them. And they all linked to different porn-sites.

Put that computer out of order for 2 weeks while they were fixing it.

God damn stupid idiot. Removed one cashier in the middle of the high-season.
I see were you are trying to reach: "how can a 17 year old kid have such a thinking like this? why doesnt he wants to be like normal teens who whana get rich? and his plan actually makes sense, but is too damn revolutionary and good at the same time than is still doubthfull if it works..." - Damaso

I've seen something like this on a mates computer I had sat up in early spring for the last time. Took me one hour to fix. I coppied all important files from C: to D: and installed a fresh german Windows XP SP3 on C:, after having formated the drive. After that I installed these:

http://www.zonealarm.com

http://www.free-av.com

http://www.safer-networking.org

And something like this can be very useful:

http://www.acronis.com

Will you be prepared the next time? You're not german, by fluke? However, good luck! ;)

I usually imagine my own sounds with it, like `tjunk, tupdieyupdiedee` aaa enemy spotted, ratatatataboom
