Was the stug IV pretty much equal in performance to the stug III?
Did it have better armour or a bigger gun?
Pretty equal in performance, though it could carry a few more rounds for the main gun than the StuG 40 iirc.
And it doesn't have the remote MG of the late model StuG III G.
wich not all Ausf G"s had. they where uncommon

But its ok. This StuG looks awesome. Its camoflage paint is also very intresting. What is it based on?What unit?

Interesting, since all the 1944 batch StuG's sent in Finland had the base for the remote controlled MG34 and holes for the nahverteidigungswaffe. This equipment was manufactured in a different factory and due some delay the StuG's were sent to Finland without them. When the StuG's arrived the holes were plugged and, like in earlier StuG's, Russian DT LMG's were installed.

Edit: Interesting fact; Since these StuG's did not have the loader's shield, it was made from, among other things, the lower hull armour of captured or destroyed BT-7 tanks.

Great update!
Finally my favourite Stug variant will be ingame, complete with Saukopfblende and Schürzen! Hell yeah!
And the .50 quad mounts look great, too. It´ll be lots of fun to use these monsters against German APCs and infantry alike!

Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.

Great stuff as always.

Yay for StuG without skirts!
It's half naked people on boats. That's all.
Here in Finland we call that "summer".

Quad .50 looks great, extremely happy to see it.

The StuG model looks awesome, I too am happy to see an unskirted variant.

BUT, I hate that color. Yes I know the Germans used a yellow out of the factory on the IV chassis, but god damn it do I hate it. Not blaming Toddel for it, just wish a different pattern was used.

I need to learn to skin so I can make a decent, dark, 2-3 tone skin for the pair of them. Or something along the lines of the autumn KT(s) where the yellow becomes a background to the overall 3 tones. Much easier on the eyes, and actually useful for hiding.

Michael Wittmann's gunner, Bobby Woll, was known to be an excellent Marksman.
He could hit targets at range even on the move.

The thing is, for summer '44 battles there is pretty much only one option for the camo, and that is the yellow factory base coat with green and red camo painted on the field. The "ambush" (the one with dots) appeared towards the autumn and red-brown and green base colours were used in '45.

Didn't know that.
