Bug Reporting / Bug on Ogledow Estate

Hello,

since the new update 2.53, on ogledow I have the following problem in and around the big building at the estate-flag:
frame rate droxps to 1fps and the screen flashes constantly black and back to game. It is not playable. It starts as soon as i make the first steps on the perimeter/yard of the manor. When i go back and exit the perimeter the game behaves normally again. If I spawn inside it would take ages to leave the place, so I have to go to windows and back to the game then press escape, wait a bit, disconnect from server and quit the game. Then i can play normaly, but when I approach the said building or spawn on sl inside it, the problem reappears. It is every time. I tried some video settings witout success.
Before the patch i had no problems. Not even the "not showing flags"-bug, that some report.

My hardware and software configuration is in the attached zip file.

My game video config is:
Display mode: 1920x1080@60Hz
Aspect ratio: 16:9
Terrain, Effects, Geometry, Texture, Filtering: all medium
Lighting: Low
Dynamic Light: Medium
Dynamic Shadows: Off
Anti-aliasing: 8x
View distance: 100%
Limit the max. framerate to 60

Edit: nVidia Settings are all on default/recommended, no changes.

System Summary:
Hardware:
CPU: i5-3470
RAM: 16 GB DDR3
GPU: Geforce GTX 670 4GB by Zotac
Disk: WD Blue 7200U/Min.

OS: Win XP Pro SP3+all updates

I use this installation only for FH2.

Hi,

which games do u play while the master account server is down?

I have many EA titles (each bf title from 1942 to bf3, almost every need for speed title from III to Rivals and even sims), Civ I to V, each Total War title from the first Shogun to Napoleon and some older flight combat simulators, but I'm bored of all by now. Reading a book might be more interesting. I spent every minute during the whole weekend with my family. Not a bad thing but sometimes it has to be sth. else. Especially after a hard work day.
I just bought XCOM on steam for 6 EUR, just to try it out, but I'm afraid that I won't enjoy it.

What r u doing?

I pursued an enemy soldier who ran into our ABC on Eppeldorf. I shot and missed. He ran behind a slope and got prone. I got after him and shot him. The screenshot is attached.

It is not possible to kill a biker with rifle, mg or knife. No matter where you hit him. Tested only in Coop.

Also there is another thread about no killing when shooting at the back. I can't find it right now. I also seen this at least when enemy is prone or in AA or AT-Gun and one shoots at his back.

I cannot find a thread about a discussion preceding the introduction of two seats for the AT-Gun. I know that it is realistic, but many things aren't realistic here and the game is faster paced than real combat. If there is no thread about it, I'm for the 1 seater.

Why can one person drive and gun in a tank but an AT-Gunner not?

Why drawing 2 people from combat to use an AT-Gun?

Why having the AT-Gunner seat-hopping?

 It is a nuisance. The AT-Gun is already slow enough.

Suggestions / Artillery 2012/2.45

As most threads about the artillery system date from 2010 or earlier I start a new thread.

I like the spotter/arty system and though it is not realistic it fits the fast pace of the game, so I don't ask for a change here.

Maps are well known after a few rounds and anybody can aim using the crosshairs on fixed details (clouds/trees/etc.) with a little training. This is quite unfair if aimed at enemy fixed positions behind ABC lines and leads to teamkilling if outside ABC. If this  is to be discouraged, moving clouds could be a possibility but this would require many maps to be changed and then we could still do "treespotting".

So my suggestion is to change the dials view to only dials with the sight on the surroundings replaced by opaque white. I do not suggest to remove the target view.

I'd prefer to have only target view (no dials) with some aiming aid on the edge, but as this would be more work, I made the simplier suggestion of changing the center of the dials to white.

General / Static AA-Bren Hit Indicator

The Fixed AA-Brens can now shoot horizontally. Thank you very much for this improvement. However I do still have a question: Do they hit anything? While I sometimes manage to get a hitmarker when firing the usual Bren (kit weapon) at planes, I never saw a hitmarker while using the static bren, though I was also firing at slow moving targets. First I led the target, as with any weapon, but as there was no marker I increased and decreased the leading but I still got no marker. I cannot tell if there was damage or not because I was not the only one firing at the planes. It irritates me because without the marker I cannot tell if I got the right leading distance or not. I cannot tell if the static brens hit anything earlier because I don't know anybody who can confirm a hit with them.

Is not my vid. I did some tests and to me it seems that it was not only removed but the accuracy also lowered, which I hope so, because this is the right way. If accuracy was not lowered the advantage is the faster movement than with sights -> harder to hit and anybody using a replacement still has this advantage.
IMO it's highly unrealistic to have good accuracy while moving and firing from the hip.
I can imagine that in RL skilled people have good accuracy while firing from the hip if they stand still  or if they move they have to aim using the sights.

Edit: as i added much text to the introduction i wanted to change the last option slightly from

Please tell me if I should have replied to this thread instead of starting a new one: Camera views in planes
I wanted to reply but I got a warning that the thread was more than 120 days old and I should consider starting a new one. So I did. Please correct me if needed.

Slightly modified Suggestion:

4 camera views: cockpit, back and to the sides (I greatly support this suggestion)

My further suggestions:
- Never implement a nose cam please.
- Remove the outside plane cams please. (never ever was a ww2 pilot able to see himself flying except on tape or when dreaming or ascending to heaven) (I also don't mind removing the fly-by cam)

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post it because it's an old debate on principles rather than a suggestion. Though I didn't found a thread. I thought to just send am PM to a Dev, but then I thought that a controversy about it would not harm.

What do you think that attracts new players most?
IMO there are two type of players: some go for graphics some for game play but the least for the last detail.
Graphics are imo lovely in this mod but i suppose that the level up to which graphics can be improved is limited by the engine of the game and to rise the whole game to a new level of graphics would cost a lot of time.
You've probably have already guessed that I appreciate gameplay over graphics. This is right.
New players will first notice the overall graphics and the gameplay. Additional content also helps a bit for long time motivation but replayability is founded on game play, which is the key to long time motivation.
So I suggest when in doubt which feature to favor, go for a game play feature if possible.
