But I imagine that we will never see the auto version of the M1 in FH2..

adapting the m1 to fire full auto (any cyclic rof) can be achieved in seconds simply by editing the weapons init as with most weapons.
Duh.

It's just that it wasn't really that common.

okay...

Personally I've ported a ton of weapons (including the carbine) into the EOD mod from FH2 and PR, but out of my bastardized version of EOD along with PR, I prefer FH2 actually. The weapon balances for this thing are ideal, no need for a fully auto carbine.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the carbine, or most semi-automatic guns either. Bolt action/automatic all the way.

It is good for pinning enemies down by laying down some continuous fire and enemies would usually not dare to pop their head when you are volleying your gun above his head (you may pretend to have emptied your clip and stop shooting, and proceed to headshot that guy who didn't count your shots and popped up), if you just shoot for killing, this is certainly not a very good weapon because the Garand is certainly better. At short range, a pistol performs essentially the same.

I will say, the carbine is one beautifully modeled and skinned weapon in fh2. Not that they all are not, but the m1 is done really well.

I gave the carbine a go recently and this weapon is anything but not useless. You have to use the high rate of fire (ofcourse dependend on how fast you can pull the trigger) connected with the low deviation. This way you can master with it in CQC and on mid and long range you can make some very interesting kills. With this weapon you are more searching for headshots on long range what makes it a nice challenge.

I mostly wanted to say for historical accuracy aspect, not the coding aspect. The full auto M1 carbine were probably not enough common to be added in the game.

I guess unless you added it in as a pickup, but I wasn't really much aware of fully auto m1s to start with aside from the m2-carbine which happened around the Korean conflict or around there.

And drilling?
Drilling also representing other combination guns which were common hunting weapons (apparently more common in WW2 days than in the present).

And its awesome so its all right, STG is also nice, but until its in the mod i will defend the right of every rare(or non existant) handheld weapon to be in this game.
soooo. Tommy gun with 100rd drum, Full auto M1s, MkB 42, Gew 41, AVT 40 and so on.
I want those, and I don't care.

I'm pretty sure the G41 was common enough to be included at some point.

Does it actually have any other difference (visible ingame), than different way of loading it?
