Kar98k and M1 Carbine.

K98 - great on distance due to very good iron sights
Garand - great all-rounder
I also hate with a passion the M1 Carbine. I just can't hit anyone with it and if by some miracle I do then it's not enough for a kill or even a bleed.

Is there a reason every time I open a new thread half the people posting are being dickheads? This community is not nearly big enough for everyone to afford to be assholes to each other.
Favorite rifles for me are the M1917 Enfield and the Carcano (not the Carbine), and the SMLE. The best rifle is the one you can shoot the best, reload times and mag capacity and all the rest is completely secondary, at least for me.

G43 & SMLE... I can't aim with other rifles :(

G43 because it's semi automatic, that adds obvious advantage over other rifles.
Carcano 91 because of superior sights.

While having such an event rich time on the forums again I thought I could tell pros and cons about my two favorite rifles in the mod. I find every rifle just ok but these ones have proven themselves better for me and the list of things they are able to do is quite impressive. Those are also the reasons how I see these rifles more superior compared to other rifles in FH2.
M1 Garand
+ Semi-auto
+ Ammo capacity (8 rounds)
+ Unlimited (kit)
+ Able to use rifle granades and also the AT granades (while having the specific kit)
+ Good long range
+ Good iron sight
+ Good damage
- Uncapable reload unless firing first empty
G43
+ Semi-auto
+ Ammo capacity (10 rounds)
+ Decent iron sight
+ Good long range
+ Good damage
- Limited (kit)

Forgot that "ping" sound the garand makes and alerts the enemy.

The "ping" sound is not a big deal. If there's no firefight going on and you need to reload the gun (let's say it has only 1 round left) I would say the final shot is the thing that makes the enemy aware of your location if they hear. The shot is way louder than the "ping" that comes right after the shot. During a firefight all this doesn't matter at all.

I used it quite a few times to storm the allied soldier who was trying to kill me in front of Hill108 on St Lo, it pretty much works for a hit-n-run

Yeah, ping tells enemy the gun is out of ammo. I have killed countless yanks by running at them when I hear ping.

How is that even a con? By the time you manage to fix your bayonet, you could have already reloaded the damn gun...
Which brings us to the old question...Are we ever going to see rifles with permanently fixed bayos on some maps (at least for Mosins I hope)?

NML is using that kind of system in some kits IIRC
