It's totally against my normal beliefs but it seems like the FH team is doing fine with the engine they're on. Mountains of content are the draw of FH to me and the engine isn't so old as to be anachronistic yet. Starting over from square 1 would not be a significant draw to me.

So do I. Please also keep in mind that if EA ever releases the source files for BF2, we might have many bugs less in a very short time  ;D .
As if they'll ever do that, dream on ;).

Armed Assault is a great way to go. Sure you lose some detail in the first person mode, but what you inherit is far more important. Such as accurate scale.

Bohemia Interactive makes clunky, complex game engines requiring extensive time and energy to develop for.

They're only clunky if you can't be bothered with a learning curve.

However, if FH team goes ArmA, what about the Invasion 1944 mod? That's my question. Though, I believe Kraetzer is also on the Hell on the Pacific team, who I hear will be joining I44 soon, so who knows.

I have to say that i would love to see a new ''FH'' style game on a new fresh engine, BUT... FH2 is unique in it's own way and is enjoyable in it's current state, besides that, there is a game called Traction Wars (http://www.tractionwars.com/content.html) that comes close to FH.

Because we want to play Forgotten Hope now and not a decade in the future

I understand you....

play FH with just one public server and a non-filled server

http://www.game-monitor.com/search.php?vars=gamevariant=fh2&game=bf2&num=100

I remember the good old days from FH 0.7. WOLF, PFC, WAW, F|H...all full servers

Yes, I remember those days.  It certainly does not seem to be the case with FH2.  I check and check and check and it's empty, except for maybe Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons (on ONE server only.)  Beyond that it's a ghost town.

There are 73 people on right now... so less complaining, more gaming!

What server?  I'm looking at the server monitor but it shows nothing.

When server changes map You cannot see it. You might have been unlucky. Try refreshing again :-)

Traction Wars has been in development for over 6 years & actively discussed for 8.

It is currently irrelevant ,however i agree FH2 is unique for a WW2 game.

You know what the problem is, http://www.game-monitor.com/search.php?vars=gamevariant=fh2&game=bf2&num=100 does not monitor 762's #1 server!  It only shows #2.  Well I'll be damned.....

But using the warumdarum server monitor won't help me at all since I can't access the warumdarum servers when I'm at home!  There's another thread about that though...

Opening the game also shows you the available servers with the number of players on them. Not ideal, but better than nothing.
