Answer this for me (and I know that someone here can), how many maps, armies, weapons, etc were released for FH1 in the same time period?  I have to admit, I started playing FH1 late after interest in DC .07 waned.  However, I soon began really enjoying this mod because there were so many battles in the rotation in all theaters of the war. 

Come on you are obviously trolling. This matter has been discussed endless times before.

Here is a Devs comments on exactly this topic and I hope you will see that you are comparing apples with bananas.

Reskinning is not allways so easy. most of the time they used different version of vehicles.  so you need to remodel it in parts. re uvw it. bake the texture. to make it look crisp and add shadows with it. even the baking could take a few hours on a normal PC. till you have the bake scene ready for baking you have to take care for a while to have it free from errors. etc etc. a "reskin"  is not so easy. we are not in bf42 anymore. our team FH2 could make fh1 in bf42 quality complete in 10-12 months. COMPLETE!

to compare.

bf42 use a diffuse texture
bf2 must have a Diffuse, normalmap and a Specularmap. You have 3x texture what means 2x more time to create it. if you dont make Highpoly models for bake the normalmaps.

for africa and us.... well

if i would be a fan mapper create a map
i would not do custom textures/models if the map is good Placeholders will do it perfect.
Gravity is a habit that is hard to shake off

FH2 is a total conversion mod, FH42 wasn't, did I answer your question? (don't reply, it is a rethoric question)

Because, for the reasons outlined, they're rarely met in an indie mod team working around their real lives, and thus lead to disappointment or rushed content.

Here's an idea - you tell me this: behind the clichéed rhetoric regarding no-one playing and BF2 being old, and FH1 having more content than FH2, what is your post actually saying, if not 'hurry up'?

We just had some fun playing a couple of good rounds. It is actually very enjoyable because they have set the timelimit to 35 minutes and therefor have quite a variety of maps beeing played.

I dont see why eevryone is flaming that guy, but having only one theatre (arguably one of the most "unpopular" out 4 years after the release of a game kills the fanbase. Its sad the amount of people playing right now, this game should have way more than PR. But content is holding it back. Maybe not exactly content, but variety of content. If player numbers dont increase that much with 2.2, I wonder if the devs will keep pouring tons of hours into a game that barely has anyone playing.

as i remember, the earlist work of 2.2 started long before 2.15 came out, so i beleieve the game already have tons of new stuff to this date. Although i really hoped that we can have Normandy before summer vacation, but thats not likely  ???  (but september is a good target 8)

2.2 work started after 2.0 release I believe. Atleast static development and vegitation and the like. Remember the Normandy announced picture released a month or two after 2.0? However 2.2 started beta testing slightly after 2.15 release.

2.1 mainly added 3 new maps, if I remember correctly, while 2.15 added lots of more things besides new maps. ;)

2.1 also added 2 new Italian tanks, and the Hawker Hurricane tin opener. Also the new ironsight shader effects among various bug fixes and other tweaks. Of course nothing compared to FH2.15's new voices, HUD, weapons, armies etc.

We are not into this for the fame, money or groupies...well, maybe groupies are ok
