I really like this particular shot from Empire: Total War. I wanted something refreshing, combat wise, location wise, etc. so I picked the Maratha Confederacy. I managed to stabilize my economy while at war with the Mughal Empire and sometimes we made peace to prepare for another war..
I conquered the Mughals land and the Hindhu people where finally happy, although the other Hindu nations, our former comrades the Mysores declared war on us and attacked our capital! We quickly send a young talented general to counter that offensive and capture Mysore, thereby ending the existence of their nation.
Now after alot of diplomacy, economy and all other stuff I attacked Goa, Portugals colony. That quite pissed them off and they kept raiding our fleet so I had no choice and ordered my forces to annihilate the Portugese.
I call this Reversed Colonization. My elite fleet was send on with the finest admiral existing together with the general who once saved our capital from the Mysores, he was in his fifties then. And we sailed out and captured Portugal. That pissed off Spain so they declared war and I countered that by simply capturing Madrid and Gibraltar. Then Denmark attacked my fleet so I also captured their land.
And meanwhile my forces attacked the Muslim Persians, former allies of the Mughals and we quickly captured that, setting another foothold in Europe.
Also the people was very happy with our Queen Tarabai I but when she died we got the drunkard Tarabai II who was quite screwing it all up so I made the nobility revolt and they put her in prison and placed her 13 year old son on the throne. Isn't that awesome?
It's not my best campaign but definately the most fun one!
