A dogfight map or two wont hurt anybody. They're hella fun when its properly balanced and when theres teamwork.

However, i dont believe it will be popular like Goodwood or Totalize. In order to be popular IMO, it needs to be a combined arms map. Something like two masses of Land with many airplanes in it, plus AA guns. A Dock, with Ships and some flags in the middle of the sea.

Thats what, i believe, will be a badass map.

...so it is difficult to get a little bit of training in flying.
Train flying in an SP game, that's how I learned to stay in the air for longer than 20 seconds.

That works until bots with their 88mm flak superaim comes in and blows you up across whole map.

Try El Al. Flak is concentrated on flags, so plenty of space to try out dogfights.

In one way you are right. But on the other hand I talked about a real dogfight (compared to online dogfights). It is too easy to beat the AI in dogfights, though there are some moments, where you have to work hard (especialy with ESAI). The main difficulty is caused by the fact, that you haven't got a nosecam in vanilla FH 2. But thats only my opinion about it. Btw I have to say, that flying in FH2 feels much more immersive than in FH 1. So not every dickhead (me included) can call himself a flyboy  ;D

Actually i learned to fly and even kill sometimes in multi already when planes were not used.

And for stay on topic. I would like to see at least one official airmap on pub servers. Its usually not easy to get plane on mostly played maps plus there are only 2-4 air targets for fighters. And mod already have few planes for Bondenplatte.

Woulndt Bondenplatte require way too much time? Like detailing the map and stuff?

I strongly support a English Channel battle with some 109s and Spitfires battling on the skies

I suggested Operation Bodenplatte, because the battle occurred  in the time of the Battle of Bulge. The front who the devs are looking in first place to bring in the next Version of FH2.

except making and testing a map takes several months so it wouldnt be in 2.4 anyhow. But the major problem with this map is it's all land = requires lot of statics to look good. And it would have to be huge so it would be too laggy probably unless special low quality statics were made.

Well, one way you could possibly make a dogfight map, which also included a serious element for land lovers, is create a large open expanse, that is lightly detailed but which looks excellent from the air. Over these parts of the map you could place flags with large (and I emphasize large) radii, up in the sky, with no geometry to make them visible. These flags would be out of bounds for any tanks or infantry to take, and too high in the air even if they somehow found a magical way. No, the only way these flags could be captured is by the fly boys, which would have to dog fight over the zones marked on the minimap.

Whilst, on the ground either in a corner, or through the center of the map, Infantry, Tanks, and others could enjoy a battle that was more or less straight, perhaps with a diamond in the center or a straight flag setup with no push code. That way, there would be a set of 3 or 4 flags for infantry and tankers to fight over, whilst aircraft (which would be in plentiful supply) would be used to take the other flags, (2 or 3 aerial flags) that, in this map, have a higher strategic importance.

Hmm, I think I wanna go map now.

i kinda have to agree with this

For the moment, the spit and hurri can be tweaked to have 8 .30 CAL's. The ME109 also with the proper armament. And stukas are also in

Later on, the correct planes can be added, like Paul defiant,ME110, DO17, HE 111 and JU 88

Beaufighters also saw some use

Bf-109 already have proper armament, but with addition of other BoB planes...that would be awesome! Or maybe some 1942 dogfights over channel. Spit Mk. Vb is already in, and FW-190 A8 can be remade for some earlier variant. I will keep dreaming  ;D

The only thing FH2 aircraft need is better speed and handling differences between aircraft.
It would be nice to see a dogfightmap, since it worked good with fh1.

also, better vision, you can hardly see more than 400 m , and you have a very limited field of view.

There where still a bunch of D and E Me 109's wich had the old armament of 2 x 7.92mm MG15 and 15mm MG151/20
