bothteh P47 and P51 would be dominated they no where have the manuoverability of axis planes in game currently i think that its wrong that both the P51 and the P47( with the new props was actually able to dogfight well) would then be fun to play with. currently in game they are like flying boats..

I want Vierlings, Zwillings, 120ings and the AAfaust (how do you call it again?) if the "CALL ARTY SUPPORT" guys get 90mm and quads :/
He was not wrong. Amateurs talk tactics, pros talk logistics.

they are seriously underpowerd. Many times, even with this patch, did i saw 4 US planes dominated by 2 FW190's. The only balance there is, is that you have now quad fifties to back you up.

The P-47 legendary armor is nothing in FH2. For example, you still die in half a second fully healthed by any burst. its also annoying how you cant strafe anything yet one MG42 lying prone can easily fire into the sky and shoot you down.
-i am fairly sure that if they took porn off the internet, there would only be one website left and it would be called bring back the porn "Perry cox, Scrubs.

Problem remains that FH2 "ceiling" is awfully low, FW190 did OMG RAEP (almost) everything down at the deck, and with BF2 engine flight physics (and the aforementioned ceiling) climb rate or speed matters very little.

At low altitude (<1500 m) agility should be something like FW190 > P-47 > P-51 > Bf 109G, climb rates P-51 > Bf 109G > FW190 > P-47, speeds FW190 >  P-51 > Bf 109G > P-47. However, at 3-5 km FW190 rapidly loses its power and agility (Bf 109G less so), while Jug and Mustang gain a decisive advantage. At > 8 km P-47 will simply wtfpwn everything with P-51 close second (soapbox mode again, P-51's success was due to its longer range, better fuel economy, cheaper building cost, simplicity of construction, and easier maintenance; not performance at altitude, agility at altitude, armour or firepower).

Haven't flown much, did 2.3 correct the feeble damage from Jug's 8 Ma Deuces (treated as 2 before)? At least the gun convergence still seems to be adjusted for bomber interception instead of dogfighting.

Including Me 262 in the mix could be interesting: faster than anything, but needs half a map to turn around and if it's caught in a "low energy state" it will be very soon very dead. Too bad the 262's were not part of the Legend of Y-29 (only used to attac Gilze-Rijen with marginal results). :-\

No love for the Forked-Tail Devil? I thought the USAAF still had a bunch of P-38s up forward.

The German planes could and did carry bombs. Generally one 250kg a piece or 4 50kgers (the 190 could carry both at once. Not sure if it could lug a 500kger, though). However, there still were a bunch of fighter-configurations in the mix.

Heh, with teamkilling existing, one can mimic the friendly fire from the German AA on that morning.  :P

And yes, I feel FH2 air combat could use an overhaul. I believe we're tossing around the concept of gravity's effects on air combat over at WaW. Still in the testing phase, but it could actually happen.

Besides rambling about my fetish of seeing the Most Sexy WW2 Airplane as a woman in an Off-Topic thread, I've been campaigning for P-38 to be included ever since they announced that P-51D's would be giving air support in Normandy. Heck, on D-Day the 9th AF actually had more Lightnings available than mostly early-model P-51's (8th AF was gobbling at that point all available P-51D's for escort duty, where der Gabelschwantz Teufel was being phased out). But because P-51 was cheapest (both to operate and build) US fighter available and "good enough" jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none, by late 1944 there were very few P-38 Groups active in the ETO (but active nevertheless).

One was 370th Group, 9AF, operating out of Florennes, Belgium (A-78). They supported the fight in Hürtgenwald (hint hint), getting Distinguished Unit Citation napalming the Scheiße out of Germans holed in the village of Bergstein (collateral damage? this is ww2, hurr durr), and flew "armed recon" (in practice, battlefield interdiction) over the German spearheads during Bulge. Another Lightning Group at the time was 474th FG also operating out of Florennes. Meanwhile, 367th Group operated during Bulge out of Juvincourt, France (A-68) and was also relatively close to the front lines.

I like the idea, no doubt.

But to me this just feels irrelevant, planes in FH2 now ain't the best. I preferred the old style we had before the Normandy release. Flying wasn't hard but it took some practice at least, now we got BF:Heroes planes and everybody is an Ace.

But that's not what this thread is about is it, anyhow, I love the idea and hope to see an 100% airplane focused map someday

I don't like these physics either, I can live with the fact that hurricane turns tighter, but I can't stand the fact that you can't outrun or outclimb them, and becaus it seems that the guns don't have convergence and bulet drop, hurricanes can snipe 109s with ease. Another thing is that Stukas guns are too powerful, two 7.92 mgs shouldn't be able to blast a hurricane or a spitfire with one half-a-second burst.

But that's just me nitpicking.
I'd rather play Kimble with my ass!
