I have around 16.500 gold left after I bought a year of premium, is the JT 88 worth the 10.000 odd or should I invest it in something else?

Yeah I'm just looking forward to most of the bugs being ironed out and maybe a few tweaks here and there.

One thing about Day Z though: it's got to be the most depressing game I've ever played! I mean that in the sense that if you play on your own it really can be a struggle. It's not the type of game you can just chill and cruise through for half an hour or so. You are constantly on edge around cities, go out into the wilderness and the bleakness of the landscape becomes engulfing. Interacting with other players can either be rewarding or soul destroying.

This is why it is so incredibly atmospheric and engrossing, even though it can be an ordeal to play through at times  :P

Very common to find. Has good accuracy and decent stopping power. Rate of fire isn't too shabby.

The main problem is that it is incredibly loud and will attract zombies from a good distance away. Not to mention its got a distinctive sound so people instantly know what you're packing.

You can try and snipe with it but it's best at medium distances. I once hit this bandit in the neck with was pretty much a throwaway shot from about 250 metres away whilst he was on the move. As the Enfield has good sights, I was able to nail him with a follow up shot quickly to make sure he stayed down.

On other occasions I've missed easy shots and when a bandit with an AK or other semi auto gets in close the Enfield can become a bit of a liability.

I'm led to believe that the story is affected by choices you make so that could give it some more replay value.

Kind of like the first one with the choices of harvesting the little sisters or not. So far in Infinite I think I've seen a few instances of choice but I don't want to ruin anyone's story.

Suggestions / Re: QF 3.7in AA Gun

It would be nice to see them on maps such as Mareth, Supercharge, Gazala etc as a means of base defence.

It could even be used as a main base long range AT gun the same way the 88 is on Gazala.

However, it would probably be best used only in main bases as it was pretty much a static feature due to it's weight and carriage system. I'm a big fan of using the 88 time fuses so something similar for the Allies would be great.

I think they are 88s. If you check out this video of the British AA gun you can see the firing and loading mechanism is totally different.

And I did not think this thread could get anymore retarded.....I was so wrong. ::)

Excellent addition to the debate. Keep it up.

My vote would be that you Chadoi are the most distracting from a proper discussion of the matter at hand. I don't own any personal firearms currently but I fully support the legal possesion and ownership of any rifle or handgun because the people who hold permits are not the ones who commit the vast majority of crimes involving weapons.

It's a matter of juvenile scare-mongering to put the blame on one type of ammunition or a certain style of weapon. If we truly care about gun controls, the black market and criminal orgainzations need to be targeted, not your average Joe Blow who enjoys his hobby...

So because I have the audacity to question the necessity of your 'hobby' I am detracting from the debate? Besides, I have never stated 'hobbyists' shouldn't be able to own rifles etc. They should be kept in a gun club, not in their home.

What is incredibly juvenile is for you to lay all gun issues at the feet of criminal organisations and the black market. That is pure NRA style bullshit. Most of these spree shootings (which is what we are meant to be discussing, no?) are carried out with legally owned, rapid fire weapons with high capacity magazines. Most of these shooters aren't career criminals so have no problems getting access to these weapons.

The gun lobbyists, NRA and the media are the scaremongers. They have a vested interest in the mass ownership of weapons. They would rather a few dead kids than a loss in very lucrative profits.

So surely the last thing you would want would be hundreds of thousands of desperate people with incredibly easy access to guns.

Yes, because firearm and ammo manufacturers are going to lay off thousands of employees and lose millions in profit. Unlikely.

The almighty dollar winning out again.

I personally have no fear of guns. Practically, nobody has them in the UK. Police and criminals alike. 90% of gun violence consists of gangs shooting other gangs. Innocent bystanders being involved with gun crime is very rare.

I have yet to see a government official or policeman go on a Columbine style rampage as they are more regulated and scrutinised in selection for those positions. That doesn't say it hasn't or will never happen but it is less likely for a cop to go into a school and unload when compared to a disgruntled young male.

In an odd sense I actually agree with you somewhat on the hollow points. Why should soldiers not be shot with them whilst government officials and private citizens can? Of course my stance would be that no one should be shot with them but that's where our opinions differ.

Come on Oddball, you know we have duelled in this thread before.

On the hollow point issue, I'm not advocating that they shouldn't be available to police forces, registered hunters etc. These guys REQUIRE it to do their job effectively.

What I am stating is that why should a round which causes the maximum amount of damage be lawfully ok to be used on civilians but not soldiers? This just seems to be incredibly odd, given that most pro-gun advocates always state that such weaponry will fall into the wrong hands. All the information you have provided in your paragraph only suggests how this will be used legally, in a well regulated way but not when it falls into the wrong hands.
