Suggestions / Re: Something needs to be done about Landmines
« on: 14-05-2009, 03:05:42 »
Would it be possible to make the flags larger and more conspicuous? Honestly though I don't think anything needs to be done to landmines currently since they're plenty effective and while the fear of tks might often make them essentially fill the same role as a satchel charge it's still better than having mine spam all over the map.

I don't know how it is in Germany, but veterans here in the US get tons of benefits like healthcare and free tuition if they return to school, so even if their paycheck isn't huge they really are actually earning a lot if you take into account being in the service for 4 years pays 50k towards your college fund.

Mareth Line / Re: Mareth Line 64
« on: 08-05-2009, 01:05:36 »
I will try to play the map to get a first hand experience of those issues in this stage and I can agree with some of those suggestions like the beaufighter spawn time, and maybe the grey flags but...let's see, the frontline (mareth and toujane) has: 4 pak 40's, 1 flak 18 and 1 marder, all of them heavy hitters...if axis can't put a fight with this is because too many axis players are doing nothing in the tiger spawn like it was the 2001 monolyte.

I agree that the front lines have plenty of AT guns for the current number of allied tanks, especially since the 88 is in such a great position. In my experience all these AT guns end up making things a lot harder for the tiger too, since its first destination is usually back to Mareth if it can get out of Gabes and avoid the Beaufighter.

The fact that the iron sights are lowered after every shot with a bolt-action rifle would make it a hassle to reaim if it takes a long time to bring the sights back up.

Increasing the time to bring up the sights on SMGs and pistols is something I definitely support though.

FH2's Crete is easier than .7's overall for the Axis in my experience, but as it has been said before this is mostly due to the SL spawn system. In my experience paradropping onto the island is much more difficult than it was in .7, to the degree that a lot of people just try to get around doing it by crashing the Ju52 into the sea and swimming to the island or using other lame tactics.

I think FH.7 had about the right balance in terms of flak- enough that the stukas and Me109s could be dealt with, but if the Ju52 pilot was careful they could still avoid flak and drop troops from a realistic altitude, albeit not directly over most flags.

Individuals run them, not the people as a majority...
Not corporations, investors, often including the company's own workers, can usually override decisions made by the CEO or fire him assuming there's a reason they decide to vote on it. Plus, investors gain when when the company does and just about everyone has some sort of holding in the stock market so if corporations benefit "the people" benefit.

Politics, its all the same... There is no difference in the way individual countries government's operate, because no matter what, socialism, capitalism, they will always work for the best of the corperations, not the people

Huh? Don't the people run said corporations?

I'll probably get it for the novelty of being able to completely level stuff but I'm skeptical how well it'll work with such a low player limit per map and so few maps.

Also, just out of curiosity does anyone know if it'll be modable, or at least have mapping tools?

Screw that!
I found something much better:

the guy's okay with it as long as we're not making any money off of it.

Those are awesome, and some really would make great menu/loading themes.
I sorta like the older 40's sounding music in the current version of FH2 though.

General Discussion / Re: Realism?
« on: 22-04-2009, 03:04:43 »

I still maintain that arty gunners should only see targets on the minimap if at all, and use a FH1 submarine-like perspective to move a target ring to positions on the map for fire missions, rather than actually see the spot on the ground. I cant' agree that the FH2 method is advanced.... Definitely not compared to FH1's which was cooler and more useful.

Overall I like FH2's system better, the lack of randomly having to fire to hone in on a target is nice and the dial system seems realistic and is immersive. That being said, I find that the view gunners get gives them too much control over where the shell lands, to the point that they can aim at individual infantrymen. I'm not a historian by any means, but I it seems neither realistic nor historically accurate for a howitzer to be firing specifically at a single soldier.

I'll admit that the system does work better for mortars than heavy guns in the targeting respect, though.

I don't know jack sh*t about modding, but wouldn't he then be the only one seeing everything pink? If so, what's the problem?  ;D

Presumably it would make it really easy to see people trying to hide in the non-bright pink underbrush.

You could heal by just sitting.. haha i remember when i was German.. i was healin. Then a storm of Shermans and US soldier came.. and i was watching how my comrades dies :P

I know, no one ever bothered me if i was sitting on the bench. Multiple times on Breakthrough I had tons of enemies just run right by me, I guess people just assumed that the german sitting over there in the corner watching them go by must be a static or something.

Suggestions / Cupola style view for AT guns
« on: 18-04-2009, 01:04:13 »
Is there any way to add the ability to look around to AT gunners similar to the way tank commanders can look around in all directions via their cupola or pilots in their cockpit? I constantly find myself hearing something behind me while I'm in a AT gun but cannot look behind me without exiting and reloading the gun or turning the whole thing around. It  seems like an open AT gun should at least have better visibility than a tank.

Sorry if this has been addressed before, I tried searching the olds forums but didn't really know what to search for and kept getting tons of unrelated stuff.

Personally, I am confident in my actual girth hence I feel little need to display a massive E-peen. Besides, it feels a little too gay for me to have so many men either 'kissing' or 'whipping' me.
Oh now don't be ridiculous, you know you like it  :-*

I'll probably be getting onto WOLF pretty soon, though Thursday is a bad night for me cause I gotta get up early tomorrow.
