The IX was especialy designed to counter the FW190.


By the time of the IX ingame, they would be equipped with the Merlin 66 wich gave 1720 horsepower engine output

Compared to 1470 of the Merlin engine of the V(b)

This engine improved everything, and especialy high altitude combat

Nah, that's just the angle of the screenshot. Could as well be the wing of a beaufighter, just compare the two tails. I'm not saying it is, but it looks like it.  :)

Real nice screenshot DJ! I know clivewill had done the model but I've never seen it finished and implemented in-game!  :o

Thought so too. I put a link on the image if you want to do more drooling. Of course, Burt is just an example of Clive's work, I don't want to necessarily push this for inclusion in FH as the type of model has to fit into gameplay.

Ya know, I've actually seen a REAL Lancaster fly over ... Lancaster, UK, which where I live, LOL  :D
