FH2 Help / Support / FH2 suddenly stopped working
« on: 28-07-2014, 13:07:09 »
Well, yesterday I tried to launch FH2 as always using the launcher but I got nothing but a black screen, not even an error...
Now, when I try to launch the mod using the classic .exe, it won`t get any better.
I don`t know why FH just stops working from one day to the other, but I hope this mistake can be fixed without me having to download the whole mod again.
Any ideas? ???

Community Polls / Re: Most popular map thread, 2.45 edition
« on: 01-08-2012, 20:08:19 »
I don`t think its a wise decision to start such a poll right after a new update. Players don`t have a good overall impression then, because then there are quite few maps played.
Anyway, the map cycles are so unbalanced that only the ongoing maps avoid me from playing FH2 its always the same stuff, although there would be enough material to create huge variety map cycles- I think I have played Operation Hyacinth maybe 2 or 3 times in 3 years FH2. But thats another topic.
So here my top 3 maps:

Hurtgen
This map just offers such a fresh game mechanic, that pushing through the forrest to the final epic end fight for Germeter... Maybe the most atmospheric FH2 map, and the last stand at Germeter is so damn thrilling and full of action- amazing.

Operation Goodwood
As already mentioned, I love the variety. And Goodwood offers a whole lot of variety. You can go by foot or tank, into the open field, a village, farm or town, and have fun on every way. The combination of different terraints and arms on Goodwood ist awesome.

Lebisey
I think Lebisey is one of the smallest maps in FH2 and thats what i love: After the first few minutes, the battle goes into the width of the map and there is simply everywhere someting going on: fights in that mansion and the forest around, fights in the town, the church, brits trying to take the Tiger down, snipers in the church- everything going on at once. Action and speed on this map make it to one of my favorites.

Brest / Re: Brest 64
« on: 16-07-2012, 15:07:55 »
May I ask why the artillery was removed? Maybe the US won the fight a bit too often yeah, but now the balance seems to be ******. Our team had won any map before, of course apart from Mareth Line which obviously cant be won by any average allied team at the moment.

Has anything been changed on Brest with the last update? Because the one battle I had on Brest since that was so unbelievably unbalanced that it was no fun at all. The Americans were basically raped over the whole fight, the Germans sat in the church and shot the American base with everything they had including artillery. The admins didnt do anything (dunno whetere any admin was there). It wasnt pssible to even get the Fountain because if you were lucky you could reach the church wall without getting killed. For some reason, the US had no artillery and didnt get the opportunity to get rid from at least some of the German campers.

It was a mess.

I want a reward for ammo supply(by Ammo Trucks/Ammo kits).

Yep. And I also thought fo a reward for squadleaders. They often have to stay in cover to let the teammates spawn- I think that should be rewarded, e.g. one point for 5 spawns on the squadleader.

General Discussion / Re: HSLAN has went to hell....
« on: 10-06-2012, 23:06:45 »
The split ranking is definetly what divides the community. Players on 762 didnt want to start from scratch like everyone else with the official rankings, wich from their pov was smart because they now how a dedicated base of players that have stats for far longer and rarely plays an official server), and those that prefer official rankings (like me) avoid 762. You'd think the non-762 people would just choose a different server than hslan, but really, what other server has active admins?? Also there's the psychological factor, a server needs a critical mass of about 25 players to get filled, and few want to join before that wich makes it hard to get it filled...

You know, when this rift started to begin I suggested to convert the old 762 points to the new ranking system for exactly this reason. Even if it cant be done perfectly, just giving the old 762 player base some kind of reward and then get rid of this whole alternate scoring system would have been soooo much better for the whole community.

Unfortunately, as so often, the community tends to see the detail problems (e.g. why the points cant be converted 1:1, etc, etc) rather than the big picture (a real rift to a anyways small community, which means that quite often I cant play a match on a weekday evening on a ranked (hslan) server) which is a real downturn.

I really encourage the community (especially the devs and 762) to sit down once again and sort this damn issue out.

Exactly what im thinking!

Developer Blogs / Re: Operation Cobra re-visited

SEXY!  :o
Cobra is so damn  overplayed that a bit more variety on it will extremely increase the fun in FH2.

It will be about them needing new devs. Any bets?

Will I ever see you on a server again nissi?

I think the idea about modifying the score board isn't too bad. I would do it the same as in RO. Only kills and teamwork points get counted and the death score removed. Players tend to forget about their beautiful K/D in this game and start to help the team even more. I have never seen a guy, who will say something like "Uh, look ad my badass K/D" after he gets adviced to help the team. But in FH2 thats the case from time to time.
What I also don't get is, why the victory - infact the goal of the game - isn't rewarded in any way, if we stick to our ranking systems.

Yes, a basic change of the reward system wouldnt be too bad either. To encourage the players to a more comradely type of playing.

Jagdtigers were used on the late Eastern Front too, for example in the battle of Budapest and elsewhere in Hungary.

No they were not, internet is a dangerous place to gain knownledge on these subjects  :P

Then tell me your source.  ::) Parts of the sPzJägAbt 512 could have fought in Hungary aswell. I cant find a source to prove this as is cant find a source to disqualify it. I guess the Reich`s administration in late 1944/45 wasn`t the best anymore.

While I would definately like to see it ingame I doubt it will ever be included. The thing saw limited use in 44/45 (rather 45) with fewer than 90 units produced - and then just on the Western Front. It would be more appropriate for a defense of Germany map. During the Ardennes offensive they were in Saarbrücken/Germany in reserve. Shortly after the Ardennes Offensive most Jagdtigers were stationed further south in the Elsass (Unternehmen Nordwind). Then shit hit the fan and everything collapsed, some were used in the Ruhr-Poket if I´m not mistaken, where Carius commanded a small group of Jagdtigers.

So, no... I doubt we will see them. Definately not on any of the current maps.

Jagdtigers were used on the late Eastern Front too, for example in the battle of Budapest and elsewhere in Hungary.
