An 88 takes it out as good too.
There are three 88s i can think of atm and they are in the very back/outskirts of the battlefield (1 in the base and 1 on the first german flag, 1 near the cliffs in the middle of nowhere). I doubt that most players in their Churchills will have the combination of patience/luck/skill to get there. But it looks like that only Stukas, Marders (Pzgr40) and Ladungs are going fight Churchills effectively. So some further 88s could be appropriate (without screwing the balance up for the other tanks, good luck).

You forget the second 88 in the pass east of Miteriya Ridge, the one under the camouflage net that has at least a limited visibility to the northern desert, unlike the uncovered AA emplacement further south.

I think we both mean the same 88. With the 88 near the cliffs i meant the one on the right flank of the map - a pass if you want to call it that way. I just described it different. My point was that kidney ridge, the place where the famous engagement between Churchills and 88s took place doesnt have 88s, obviously for balance reasons. The 88s are placed on the periphery of the map. It will be hard to balance Churchills - by adding german counters - without making Crusaders and Shermans frustrating to play with.

No, we don't mean the same 88. There are two 88's in the pass/between the cliffs, one at the El Dhib flag ("first flag") and one in the mainbase (useless really since you are not allowed to attack main), for a total of four.

That said, the gap between Kidney and Miteriya ridges is and always has been the weak point. The 50mm guns on Kidney can't oneshot Crusaders and have trouble killing Shermans at all, so adding one "invulnerable" tank into the mix hardly matters. Climbing the Miteriya along the "spine" will be rather challenging with the Churchill, so it will trundle along two predictable routes, one of which has two 88's (the pass) and one of which can be blocked with Stukas and F2's/Marders (the Kidney gap).

Oh okay, I don´t know that 88 then, but I hardly use them on El Alamein anyways. Another thing aside: Were Panzer IV Ausführung G´s (with 80mm frontal armour) used in the 2nd Battle of El Alamein (23rd of October - 11th of November ´42)? I know the Germans started to produce them in May ´42 and i assume most of the Panzer IVs in North Afrika were still F1/2s, but would it be possible to add the Ausführung G on El Alamein?

Would be cool if the developers could "make" it - it´s still an increase of 60% - frontal armour.

no matter how tough your Churchill is, a good old landmine is going to mess it up.

Nope. But they did appeared in the tunesia campaign.
Limited numbers tough.....The Panzer III was the most common tank in NA.

I guess I'll take over for Lightning and say that due to Theta and the mess he left all over this thread, there will not be any news this week. We are still cleaning up from last week.
