makes sense, rappels must have been some stroke of genius as was (Recall the 'No way in hell can weapons be deployed in buildings'), so expecting vehicles to do what the player model only recently learnt how to may be a bit too much of a challenge

Not really, since grapples (and ziplines) were in the special forces expansion pack.

I bet that it wouldn't take too much work to have grapple firing LCAs, but that it would be a bit pointless, since hand held grapples are probably more effective at preventing German camping.

I imagine there would have been alot of ships on the horizion to look at for the germans.

That was a portion of it, there were so many ship that they would literally go over the horizon and disappear in the distance. I've seen some photos (Unfortunately I can't find them :\ ) where it shows all the ships taken while in formation and its amazing.

Your idea is pretty good though

To tell you the truth i would like to see multiple landings, on pirates O Me Harty Beach(Omaha.. :P) is very fun, i mean you row your boat to shore then draw your cutlass and storm up the beach. But i would love to see a historically accurate Omaha just so fh2 can brag bout it. :p.

You don't have to, just wait for 2.2.
