Splendid indeed. I even found a related period of ww2 history that I never knew about due to this - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-Soviet_invasion_of_Iran

Nice trailer...got some of the old FH2 juices flowing.

Liking this, will come back for the party if this was made standalone.

"Mods to download" - why there's no FH2?  ???

for the same reason there is no PR, Alpha Project and dozens of other mods.

Liking this, will come back for the party if this was made standalone.
Funny how everybody assumed that FH2 will become standalone (because PR did?) when devs never gave us any official statement on this subject. There are of course some hints if you dig deep enough, but those are more suitable for conspiracy thread than anything else. As Roughbeak said: to play FH2 you can get BF2 for free from battlelog.co, what combined with FH2 Launcher makes FH2 a "semi" standalone mod for now ;)

Battlelog is all fine and dandy but I know I would personally have difficult time to convince people I know to try FH2 out since it takes two major downloads and more things to make sure they run as intended. If it was just one download and one install, that'd be a whole other story. People these days dont have the patience to go through the trouble unfortunately.

That's obvious, but battlelog is all we can use for now. It still makes it much easier than buying BF2, updating it to 1.41 and then to 1.5 before even installing the mod. The old way required 4 downloands: BF2, 2 patches (one of them was 1,5GB big) and FH2. Add to that shitloads of time needed for all the installs (I remember installing those patches took ages) not to mention all the mistakes people made in the process what forced them to reinstall whole thing and start from the scratch all over again. Battlelog already helped to bring new players to FH2 :)

In this case, it would be very nice if we could have a fancy launcher that takes care of all the process with one browser download and one click. But that battle log do look convenient enough for me.

I guess everyone already thinks that FH2 would become standalone without the devs saying anything because there is absolutely not a single reason not to do it.

I wish it was that simple, but unfortunately it's not. I only hope devs will eventually overcome all the obstacles on their way to release a standalone or at least give the community an official statement on this subject.

Since someone already brought up the Japanese, might there be another surprise in store for us that takes place in the Pacific?
