Must see for owner TES IV: Oblivion
« on: 15-09-2010, 19:09:07 »
Nehirim: at fate's edge just has been released in English.

http://www.moddb.com/mods/nehrim-at-fates-edge

it's a total convention mod for TES IV, and thus is in fact a different game then TES IV.

I've been looking forward for this mod for some time now. If you own TES IV : oblivion, I advice you to check it out :)

downloading now !

well, they've worked on it since 2006 I believe. They have build a world roughly the same size as you got with your stock oblivion game, but these guys made the environment all by hand instead of loading in terrain and adding speedthree to it.

How is the translation? Not sure should I get English or German version.

Not sure, but it has all been checked by native English speaker. I'm not sure if they also dubbed the voices in English though, but I believe I somewhere read they hired English actors for it.

Well the mod didn't work for me. Nothing happens when i press start new game or continue, couldn't find any fixes either. The menu did look nice though I don't think it was worth 1.7 GB ;D.

you first need to activate the mod :P

I agree the readme could be better.

start the nehrim launcher(not the exe on your desktop, look in the file for the launcher) , go to data, unselect everything(also Oblivion.esm!!). after that, select the 3 nehrim files.

then it should work.

Also I had the "purple texture issue"(this means the oblivion engine can't find it's textures) easily solved by copying the textures file from stock oblivion into the nehrim folder

It is indeed a completely new, and very good, game. I tried it during the summer. It's a shame I do no longer have time to play it. I remember being stuck at the quest where you have to find what happened to the girl who went collecting mushrooms in the woods.

Apparently you have to head Northwest from the location where you found her basket. Anybody did it already?

Also, those giant spiders are quite creepy.

I was finally able to try this and it indeed it awesome. I just wish I could be able to keep distant landscape on, but then my fps kills me  :'(.

And hey, what to do at very start of game, where I have to find something to support the wall? I already collected some pricks from that "upper mine", but it isn't enough and I can't find anything else  ???

collect the shovels in the mine, not the bricks. you can find them in the miners quarters near the skeletons

Yes, found out on my own after a while. I just didn't think shovels would do any good. I was expecting something like pricks or planks and similar. I also got this working well enough to use distant landscape. For some reason, it was set by defoult to use only one core of my prosessor  ;D Now it runs on two and smoothly.
