You don't need references to make a nice texture (well ok, you do in terms of historical correctness... but thats not my point) :). Come on man, get creative with it!
Anyway, do a rifle or such now :).

I would love to see a C96 :P Love the look of it

nice. but your Texture quality was better before.- you work backwards. try to recall what i told you and try to use the Tuts i send you. this look like your first skin ever and you can do better i know.

I agree, actually,I worked a lot in the wood grip and I was so tired I just made the render, that means,no work on the metal !
Anyway,I will correct this one before making another thing...

First post updated with a new texture and sentence!

I go with the Mauser C96 sexiest gun in history.

Very nice, I really like the wood grip. Maybe the light effect or what it is called is a bit overdone, IMHO the texture should be a bit more flat without as many lighter blotches. And I'm not talking about the highlights at the edges for clarification.

Well,here is the last version
It is cloudy that is not very good but I like the cloudiness of the texture...even if it might looks to rusted...
Thanks to Toddel for the great advices.

You should add more details, scratches all over the frame; edges scratched from use. Wood scarved around the grip.

Looks better and better. Do you have normal maps on the wood handle?
