Post something happy that happened to you
« on: 24-03-2010, 02:03:52 »
Just as the title says. Post something, anything, happy that happened to you. Anything from having just found a $20 bill to just having gotten married.

I'll start. Yesterday I am sitting in English class when a classmate turned to me and asked me if I had studied for the test. I asked what test, and he replied the Advanced Physics test. Advanced physics is a very tough course, and so I was frantic, studying all through lunch. I took the test, and it was brutal and frantic- electricity, resistors, and capacitors, in the hellish way that tests in that class are.

I got it back today, and I got a %95, even though I had barely studied.

Figured that the OT forum could use a light-hearted thread, something to cheer us up. So, what do you all have?
Twilight - the movie is just like Schindler's list... You know you're watching a crime against humanity, but it's sort of entertaining.~~Ts4EVER

Today, I was starving, and had no money at all for lunch.  I mean none.  So I wondered if I had enough pts saved up on the dominos website to get something for free.  Turned out, I could get some chicken and bread sticks, 15 bucks worth, for completely free.  I was pretty stoked.

The exam that I took last week that had a fire drill in the middle might actually count!*  A vote was taken in our lecture today, and the overiding veiw we expressed was for it to count, rather than the final counting for more of the module.  Still, its up to the independant body to decide though.

*We all milled around outside in the rain discussing the questions.

After my first reenactment where I was Pak gun commander, we were sitting in the cafe, drinking and talking, when one of the American reenactor, a NCO, came up to a member of my unit, an Obergefreiter-Unteroffizeranwarter, asking who was in charge of the Pak gun.  I overheard it, and stood up and walked over, saying "Hey, that's me, can I help you with something, is there something wrong?"

He then stuck out his hand and said "I just wanted to congratulate you on your performance"

"Wha...huh...?"  <took his hand in mine and shook>

"You guys were fucking annoying for us, your camo was amazing, and I'm sorry if some guys didn't take hits from you, it was because they didn't even see you.  I heard it was your first time in a command role, and I just wanted to congratulate you."

"Wow...thank you sir!"

That was a VERY good feeling.

My medications make me a drooling slowpoke.

But I don't know if thats happy, it alteast is more happy then sneezing and coughing and driving myself crazy.

When I was on patrol in Uruzgan an Australian and Dutch guy went for a piss near the road, While we stopped for a smoke, The Ausie guy then spotted a odd looking pill of rock while chatting with the dutch officer. It  was just about 10 meters away from him.
Golf started searching and they found a pressure-plate IED.. What are the changes, what If that guy didn't went for a piss..   That day I felt lucky..

I drove to town, to three different stores, looking for a 10m DVI to HDMI cable, for I need one on Saturday.
The longest I found was 3.5m, and it did cost 35€. I was pissed and returned to my hometown, angry.
Then I just searched it on Amazon and found out I get 10m cable there and even with Premium shipping it costs hardly more than a third than in those shops. Fuck you, geldgeile Geschäfte.   :P

EDIT: Oh and my girlfriend made me dinner, and I could go home 2 hours early from "work" today. Plus other stuff - yeah the day has been quite successful.

...I'm finally getting over my cold? I'm like 90% back to normal now.

Surprisingly, not much happens to you when you're basically a shut in...
