It gives 3 ways (links to downloads provided in the post), I used the second one and it works great. The second one also has the advantage of widescreen support. These methods are approved on every functioning server I know of, so they shouldn't get you into any problems. Only downside of BF1942 these days is that hackers became pretty common. Win 8 often auto blocks pbscreenshots, keyhashdatenbank is no longer reliable and pb hasn't been updated in years, so it's pretty hard to bust hackers these days.
