Suggestions / Kar98k + PzB 39 + Luger issues

Hey folks,

first of all thanks for your great work. 2.46 is incredible good! :-*

With the introduction of the autopatcher system you are now able to update faster. This is great, because you can now solve all the minor problems ;)

My main problem refers to the "Kar98k" (which should be named like this in the kill message, instead of "K98"). In some Maps post 1944 the Kar98k uses a ring around the bead, which is really helpful for aiming at moving targets. In pre 1944 this ring is not existent. I have searched for historical reasons, but found non a bit. Could you please tell me the story behind this or just standardize the sights?  ;)

Another problematic part of the Kar98k are the animations. These animations - probably one of the firsts ever made for fh2 - have come to age now. The Greatmaster of Animations 'Chad509' has already showed new animations in his youtube channel. Please get them into game, im using the Kar98k too often ;D

The PzB 39 and the Luger now do have asynchrone reloading sounds/animations. Finally the PzB 39 faces a holding error in third person.

Hey folks,

as the title suggests I would prefer the removal of all third person-sights for the drivers of cars, trucks, apcs and stationary weapons. planes and passengers should retain the third-person sight.

+ adds huge immersion, you will see :)
+ gives infantry a better chance to overwhelm
+ realistic, of course
+ not much work

Furthermore many aa-guns (Flak 38, Vierling, Quad Cal. 50) dont have the free sight which you activate with "ctrl". This is inhibitive because of the "slow" rotating velocity of the aa gun itself and contrariwise the high velocity of planes.

Hey guys,

I was intense playing fh the last few days and noticed some things:

Arty spot symbol
Could a small icon (maybe an X or a tiny red circle) placed on the minimap when I spotted a target for the arty? If I spot i.e. a church tower, the other players can see now that I marked the church for arty already. Naturally this small icon should only be visible for classes with binoculars. That will maybe stop the spotting storm who appears sometimes and let you see which targets already have been marked.

Teamkills
While playing I also get teamkilled many times (15 times in 2 rounds). Could the team-kill damage be reduced to 50%? I mean a rifle shot does kill teammates instantly which is very annoying for most of the newer fh-players and kills their and my motivation to play further.

MINES!!!!!
Friendly mines should not be able to kill teammates! Some people deactivate their 3D-map or the buggy bf2 engine forgets to show the mine symbol. This leads to many gratuitous teamkills who disturb the gameplay again and again.

Free sight
Some portable and stationary guns also need the free sight function with ctrl, which is missing (especially the Sd.Ah 51 trailer). This adds a bit to the survival rate of the gunner.

Suggestions / Tank & AT gun handbrake

Heyho,

while i was driving a tank at the top of an elevation my tank (Panzer III J) starts sliding down after every shot. The same problem have AT guns. Now my question is:

Could a handbrake system bound on the space-bar be implemented? If you hold the space bar, your tank stands immobile.

I know space bar is also for firing the main gun, but i never use this function like that, besides in planes.

Let me hear you thoughts!

Suggestions / The periodic penetration suggestion

Hey folks,

I love the changes that comes with 2.45, but one thing is still missing! penetration of thin materials like wood, the walls of north africa (you know, the special ones) or tents!

Rifle cartridges should be able to penetrate a wooden door or a window frame, the .50 cal and the 20mm AP maybe thin walls and of course the thick wooden fences.

This suggestion is just about full auto weapons, not about the AT shells of tanks or stationary guns.

+ heavy mgs now have their right to exist
+ the 20mm KwK of the PanzerII gets also improved

Hello folks,

It would be nice if you could replace the 3. Person sight when you are laying dead on the battlefield
with the realistic 1. person sight you gain if you get disabled (Only if you get killed as an infantry soldier, not in vehicles).

+ adds a immersive effect
+ stops the reporting of enemy positions via chat or headset
+ removes this buggy sight through buildings and trees
+ helps players to explore the beautiful sky

- maybe a lot of work?!

Suggestions / Update the german Afrikakorps uniform

Heylo,

the models of the german troops in africa look a little bit "chaste".

Can you - of course if you have time -  overhaul them and make them like the great waffen-ss suits(the brown-camouflage ones)?
Because in my opinion these have a better quality... ( I know they were your first models and you guys did become better in time ;)

Hey,

A motorbike with a sidecar (armed with mg34/mg42) would be a nice addition!

As a spotter you would have a fast vehicle which also has a effective weapon!

In ww2 they got "Kradschützenabteilungen"!

The Beretta M1934 pistol is a nice weapon, but the ironsights doesn't fit...

It's heavy to aim with that! Can you pls fix this?

Suggestions / New Blood?

It's me again,

when a bullet hits a body, I think the blood is default "dust" from bf2 vanilla just painted red...

In other mods, i.e. Omnicide (which is great btw ;D) the blood cloud looks more "realistic" (how can i know that?!)...

Can you update this thing?

Suggestions / Penetration of light materials

Well well,

is it possible that stronger bullets (7.92, .30-06 and of course the .50 BMG) penetrate things like wood fences and glas(!) in the bf2 engine without big effort?

I know there are sheet fences which you can penetrate, so it is possible, but can you enlarge it on light wood and other materials?

I've heard that a .50 also penetrates walls!

Well folks,

I am also new to this forum and i love the forgotten hope mod, but I think ironsight reload animations for the established bolt-action rifles ( kar98k, lee-enfield and so on) are a must have!

As I find the "angry farmer kit", I like the Winchester because of their reload animation in the ironsights!

In my opinion it would make the gameplay much smoother and give bolt-action-rifle-guys the chance to pwn a smg-nerd in close combat situations!
