I used to love the mg 42, but since they toned down the rate of fire it lost its special feeling..just a mg 34 with different sound. zb 26 is teh shit

AFAIK rate of fire was upped to 900 RPM... It just fires 1 bullet at the time instead of 2 @ 600 RPM... (Or sth like that).

That's right, the MG42 rate of fire was increased, but the amount of damage was reduced.

I have to say it was a hard desicion between BAR and Bren, but at the end the Bren has a bigger mag. Ofcourse the german MG's like MG42/34 are better concerning firepower, ammo count, accuracy and sigths but the usebility of the Bren is much more variable. It is not only a defensive weapon. You can use it in many different situations, also for attacking. Thatswhy I chose the Bren.

As expected, everyone is german biased and chooses the

1. MG42
 ;D ;D trololololoooo

Second is the MG26. No surprise, this czech weapon is MIRACLE

Third is the BAR, the BAR was useless in in 2.2,2.3 and 2.35 but has finnaly been smoothend and perfectioned in 2.4  The BAR is awesome!

I am surprised to see so few votes for Bren gun. It is still the best LMG to me. But i suppose it is preference
i also expected a bit more votes for the FG42. When i saw a FG42 IRL last year and held it in my hands, i played singleplayer non stop with FG42 on PHL  ;D
But ye, it sways to the right, IRL the FG42 also did this. The recoil wassent as balanced as with other side mounted LMG's. The Breda 30 for example, was heavier on the left side of the magazine, kinda like the counterweight

I wish we could wield the mg34/mg42/1919. Cause it was possible in real life. The 1919 could be fired from the hip with some recoil. Same with the mg34/42. And they could be aimed and fired from the hip, perhaps with the same recoil as the Bren.

Yes it was possible, but troops where never trained for it. Nor did the weapon was designed for it. Same goes for the Breda And DP28(DPM is diffrent)

The ZB26 and BREN where LMG's wich where designed to also be used as a weapon capable of being fired while standing OR from the hip. Bren gunners even recieved training for it, and especialy the australians where known to be very trained and deadly in this manouver. Using the sling as a support the Bren became actually a very effective automatic rifle

Also there is gameplay reasons..If MG34/42 is allowed to this, then allies LMGS have NO advantage whatsoever! Also this will become a spam weapon for use inside buildings... ruining gameplay completly

This in itself should be a reason

A 20 or 30 round mag, yeah fine you can spray a room

But a 250 round drum? bitch please!

The first place is the Bren, great damage, laser precision, magasine fed and the possibility to use it as an assault rifle. The mg26(t) is quite awesome, just the 20round magasine is the little default.

Mg34/42 are simply beats, they rape anything, but I cant use it while standing.

BAR, until 2.3 this was by far my favorite gun because he was as great as the bren, but now he seems to have no precision, even while shooting shot by shot. I miss that BAR :(

Dude the FRAK you talking about? the BAR had terrible accuracy in 2.3, it got much improved in 2.4 same as with the bren.

if it was not in 2.3 it was in 2.26, I think, when PeB came, the BAR had the precision of a rifle when shoting shot by shot, was easy to control in small bursts, but the sight when deployed was hidding everything. In that time the BAR was my alternative to the shitty garand, it's in since 2.3 that I started to rage about the garand since the BAR was not good anymore.

Picked FG42. Meant to pick MG26(t). Ah well.

Browning. Easy recoil, a lot of ammo in one belt and good sights. Negative side is that it can't be shot while standing, but on the other hand, I can't hit anything with other lmg's while standing, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Bren gun. Best for multirole fighting. Good for area denial, and long range killing sprees, but can still reinforce the squad in CQC and building to building fighting. BAR was close second, especially with the improvements that came with this patch. Belt fed MGs are nice, but I always feel tied down when I use them. Like I have to camp, or run around with my pistol out hoping I dont meet someone at medium range. If Im gonna do this I prefer a placed tripod/lafette.
