Forgotten Hope 0.7 on Windows 7

I searched for this but found no statisfying answers so instead of necroing I start this thread with the meaning of getting it running on Windows 7.

The good news is that it actually works right now, BF1942 runs and plays fine, patched up to date and then FH0.7 installed, I can start FH0.7 I can see the servers I can select but during the loading process it crashes, same routine every time.

So now I am wondering is there anyone with Windows 7 + FH1 who also had this particular problem and maybe even has a solution? Thanks!

It works for me when I run FH in Windows 98/ME compatibility mode.

Hey People.

i used the search function, and found this thread so i thought i could just post my problem in here.

i am having the same problems, but the compatibility mode does not fix it.

running windows 7 ultimate x64, 4g ddr3 ram, gtx470.

tried several compatibility modes, always runs as admin etc. etc.. bf1942 works flawlessly, but FH wont load any map.
tried that create a game stuff too, but it always crashes. a simple "bf1942.exe has stopped working" error.

is there any other thing i could try?

Try starting the regular game and then ingame change mod to FH

PatchOne,
uninstall the game,
then disable UAC,
then install BF42 and FH,
run it as admin with Win98 compatibility mode.
Enjoy.


Can you tell me if you have a problem of ping btw ?

hey, thanks - already fixed the problem with a re-install of the game but thanks anyways.

and yeah, my ping goes relatively high sometimes.

If you lag too much (I had huge lags sometimes), you should try to change the affinity settings, in the task manager.
When the map is loaded, find BF1942.exe in task manager, right click on it, then click on "set affinity" (it should be called like that, not sure), and tick all the boxes. Check your ping in the game, it should not change a lot. However you have to do that each time a map is loaded, and task manager must not be closed.
There is an other solution but it didn't work for me. You must change a value in the register.
