German Float Plane Raised from the DEAD
« on: 12-07-2012, 17:07:01 »
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2170817/German-seaplane-recovered-depths-fjord-70-years-sank-raising-hopes-fly-again.html

My fave part of the article is when a photo is captioned "Wartime Nazi bomber: The Heinkel He-115 flying boat, pictured during World War Two, was used to attack shipping and in a reconnaissance role", and is of a Finnish 115.

I always love it when people uncover these relics. I just wonder how many more vehicles and weapons of that war still wait somewhere.

Seems to be in pretty good condition actually. Not like that poor JU-88 they found recently :<

Look at the condition! You wouldn't say that it was nearly 70 years under water.
But I wonder haven't they recoverd another HE-115 some years ago? I remember reading a story about a HE-115 which they also discoverd in a lake but I don't remember in which country but i was somewhere in scandinavia.

Nice find though :D
