These, like all weapons weaken at range.

The PIAT is the best as a 'commando weapon' because it lacks smoke trail and is short range anyway.
The shrek is one-off killer.
The bazooka relies on basic wait-for-tank-to-show-you-their-ass, fire, displace.

General tactics.
Wait for tank to show you their ass.
Know each tank and its weak point. Hit Pz IV H in the tracks or rear, not the side, stuG in the sides unless it has skirt, then try for its narrow ass. Tiger requires top shot for 1S1K

hide with pistol to remove any chance of sticking out. Switch to rocket only when tank is almost in range, but not when facing you - for aforementioned reason.

Aim well, aim hard and fire.

Try to get shots when not under pressure to make it count i.e when NOT getting shot at by the tank or infantry.

Wasted shots are wasted shots, like any other weapon, so don't expecy any n00b shot to be a kill, then go whining about it when it isn't.



PIAT is also the best AP weapon because it lobes more than others, maybe besides faust.
Zook is the worst because of its relatively flat trajectory and small explosive damage.
Shrek is good for range and splash damage, but not at close range unless you want to die also.



Work with support, not alone - duh. You only have a pistol.
Avoid standing WITH the support, but stay hiding and let them do their part till its your time to shine.
In heavy infantry areas, switch to pistol and only switch to rocket when a tank is around.
Learn to develop good situational awareness. Not the following:
      - How long you need to load a rocket in the tube vs. how close the target is.
      - How to balance dealing with infantry and your target.
      - how many shots you have and how powerful your shots vs the target's armor is.
      - your path to the target, and your escape route.

*AT men have the shortest lifespan, but you don't have to subscribe to this. A good AT man can take out a column of armor, a few infantry and have a plethora of guns to pick up from to exfilterate the scene.

used properly, these are the most badass units. Be a badass, not a pansy suicide bomber.

If you mean by accuracy, of course. But if you mean weakens via damage/penetration potential, it stays constant at any range by the nature of HEAT projectiles.

And don't forget that near-misses actually have their purpose. Most players realize a zook/shrek/piat comes with at least an extra shot, if not 2-3, so seeing one streak past their tank is usually a surefire way to get them to pull back/retreat a little ways, hopefully taking some pressure off your guys. So don't be afraid to lob a rocket at long range, just don't expect it to hit too often.

Personally, I dont retreat when i get shot at and missed. I simply realize where the shot came from and turn into it to find the target, usually at an angle since i expect a weaker hit, and also to maintain hull mg fire on the infantry.

So it just brings trouble to whoever fired first - and since I'm already in HE, its a single action to find and kill the offending zooker.

Personally, i dont recommend that. But to each his own.

Panzershreck is my favorite.

It's like Starship Troopers (the movie one): Fire the nuke, Rico!

I haven't noticed drop difference between Shreck and Bazooka, but when I steal a Schreck off a German, I can kill Panthers, Panzers, anything! Meanwhile with a M1A1 Bazooka, I hit the back flat off on a Panzer IV H and he procedes to shoot a HE shell at me, unscathed by my rocket.

Well, Panzerschreck is simply way more powerful than the Bazooka :) No wonder that you like it better than the Bazooka :P

I personally prefer Panzerschreck too. It's giant, it's effective and it has class !

Shrek is definitely more restrictive in that you can't really see much when aiming with it.

I am really starting to like the Panzerschrek :D. That thing kills on maps like Goodwood, I still have a lot of trouble hitting anything moving do to the huge shield but it seems all I need to do to hit something stationary is aim at it, then aim up just an inch or two according to distance, and then one Mississippi, two Mississippis, three Mississippis.. kaboom!

Best kill with it so far was on Goodwood, I was in a crater near Le Mesnil and a Cromwell drove past me, heading across the map disagonally, going for Le Poirier. He was already a ways away when he got to the railroad tracks and disappeared over them, but I guessed where he'd be in five seconds and got lucky. Sadly I was a little slow on the print screen button and my only visual record is me hiding in a hole in the ground :D.

PIAT is still my favorite but the Schrek is challenging the Zook for #2 on my list. If anyone has any tips about the Schrek I'd love to hear them!

You pretty much nailed it andrew. I like to stay close to ammo supplies (be it truck or stationary ammo box) and try my luck on longer distances. On totalize for example, I often use shreck on flak positions hill and shoot enemy tanks on other side of river. Tanker rarely notices where I shot from.

Try and practise to use the shreck for long range shots. Wait for enemy tanks to stop and then fire
