Title: having a hard time spotting enemies
Post by: brokeN on 25-06-2018, 18:06:39
i barely can tell the difference between friendly and enemy, i shoot friendly 70% of the time i spot a player,

is there way to increase brightness maybe that will help?

NOTE : i never had that issue in BF2 its just FH2 uniforms are almost the same (friendly & enemy)

im really afraid to play because im gonna get banned cuz of team kill...got kicked once :(

oh hell i just realized,

im using f.lux (its an app that changes the saturation of your screen so it doesn't burn your eyes at night)

im gonna see if thats the problem, not sure why i only have that problem in FH2

EDIT: yep indeed, f.lux changed the ingame colors by alot. i was also wondering why i didn't have any problems in the morning...f.lux turns off in the mornings.

German handle their rifle differently so they are easy to spot.
I would advise you to join a squad. This way you follow the flow of players and so the guy running towards you is certainly an ennemy.
Weapons sound also give you an idea of the ennemy (but be carefull someone might have captured a weapon).

Overall, avoid to play as a lonewolf

now thats some good tips to spot enemies, thanks, but it was because of f.lux that changed their uniform colors.

that one time i was watching an UNO vid on youtube and the Blue and Green colors were literally almost identical, all cuz of f.lux, thanks for the reply :D

btw is there a way to link your accounts ? (website account & ingame account)

They are not. You can easily recognize uniforms by their shape, and colors (especially now when you've fixed your problem), but it might be a bit hard to learn it all on the go, while you're in the heat of battle. Have quick look here (http://forgottenhope.warumdarum.de/fh2_armies.php?) to learn the most characteristic parts of each uniform to make it easier for you to tell who is who in game.

+ what Seth said. Germans were trained to hold their rifles in one hand while running, so it's easy to spot them when they sprint. In most occasions you will see them holding their K98ks in one hand. But always double check who you're shooting at. Occasionally, allies may run with captured weapons holding them in one hand too. Be careful.

im really afraid to play because im gonna get banned cuz of team kill...got kicked once :(
Usually you will get kicked twice if you teamkill too much, then you will get banned. If banned by auto admin after you reach a certain -score, your ban will last for 30 minutes. If you will get banned for doing TKs on purpose, it's usually 2 weeks ban. But occasional single, and accidental teamkills happen a lot, even for skilled and experienced players, so don't worry too much about it.

No.

Once you get to -6, just go ahead and disconnect just to be safe.

The best rule of thumb is

IF YOUR NOT SURE, DONT SHOOT!!!

My tip would be to use the minimap as much as possible. You can see there if people from your own team are anywhere in front of you or not (make sure to zoom out with N key). Only shoot if you are sure there are no friendlies in the direction you want to fire. Perhaps go lone wolf and avoid the crowded flagzones, instead secure the flanks where no team mates are.

Otherwise the best tip so far is to join a good squad that sticks together and follow them. If you donĀ“t find a good squad, just randomly chose a player that looks like he knows what he is doing and follow him and only shoot when he does.

You will learn the subtle differences of the soldier silhouettes, uniform colors and headgear over time.

Most of the time you will see someone who's running in front of you and not shooting at you, it will be a friendly. Remember the basic rule: if you see the enemy, he can see you too. Most of experienced players will react quickly, and they are able to one shot kill you while you're in the move, and often from a great distances. If your kill seems to be easy, double check who's in your sights.

I had the same problem with flux, so i turn it off whenever I play. Although I am not an experienced player, I am not a beginner either, so I think I can give you my tips: If a soldier is at a medium distance or far away, check out the minimap, zoom in or out if necessary. If a soldier is at a short distance, determine if he is a friend or a foe by recognizing the uniform (ww2 uniforms are usually easy to distinguish, compared to modern uniforms), looking at the minimap in close quarters takes too long. When manning a static weapon or a tank (you shouldn't be driving a tank on a multiplayer game if you recently installed the mod) you can "spot" an unknown soldier to distinguish between friend or foe. If a red arrow appears on the minimap in the direction you are aiming to, he is an enemy, if instead a question mark appears on top of a blue arrow, he is a friend.
