* empty OpenGL extension strings are now filtered out (cosmetic issue on Linux/Wine)
* collision mesh edges are now drawn more visibly

Known Issues:

* BfMeshView windows do not show up in taskbar on Linux Mint 19 (this is a Wine 3.x issue)

Modding / BfMeshView 2.4.0 released
« on: 12-02-2018, 22:02:24 »
I just released a new version (BfMeshView 2.4.0)!

http://www.bytehazard.com/bfstuff/bfmeshview/

This release brings a large number of changes that have accumulated over the last year, mainly adding BF2 mesh editing tools and productivity improvements for common or repetitive tasks. We've used many of the new features to fix hundreds of statics glitches for the upcoming FH2 release.

The highlights:
* Generate Weighted Normals: this makes many models look significantly better
* Vertex Normal editing tools: this has allowed us to fix many lighting glitches
* improved UV Editor: this has allowed us to fix stretched textures
* mesh editing 'Fix' tool set: this has allowed us to fix many popping LODs
* improved .sample generation: allows quicker fixes of .sample files
* improved navigation: quickly locate to texture map files on disk
* updated shaders: all BF2 models should now appear definitively correct in BfMeshView

Note that this is a raw untested beta-release; some things may be utterly broken, incomplete, or undocumented.

@FH2 devs: please keep using the BfMeshView in your SVN working copy! SVN Update /Tools/BfMeshView/ for the latest builds!

Announcements / Call To Arms
« on: 07-05-2012, 23:05:13 »
Hi fellow FH fans and FH players!

As you might have heard of, very recently a commercial game was released titled "Army Rage" (www.armyrage.com), which consists of a large amount of assets (weapons, vehicles, textures, sounds etc) taken from Forgotten Hope 2 without our permission. The publisher "Yacuba Games" and developer "Tuyasoft" are thus illicitly profiting from the creativity of the Forgotten Hope developers. We have evidence documented here: http://www.fhmod.org/armyrage/

We have contacted the CEO of Yacuba Games (Delzar Khalaf), but he has generally ignored our requests. From the onset he has responded with denial in spite of obvious evidence, then falsely claimed it was removed. In a new version released a few days ago, they have tried to cover up more of our material in an apparent attempt to hide their origins.

As of now, we are in contact with various service providers to have "Army Rage" taken off-line, but this may take some time, and in the mean while, unwitting gamers may spend their money on a game that eventually may be shut down. We're hoping to inform them that, for now, "Army Rage" is an unsafe investment.

So, the FH team needs your help. We ask you to post comments, e-mails, reviews, tweets, youtubes, reddits, slashdots; in your own wording and to your own discretion, what you think about this matter. We hope that, as result, no informed gamer will waste their money on the cheap knockoff title that "Army Rage" strives to be.

Please note that while Yacuba Games and Tuyasoft are engaging in illegal activities, we will NOT accept personal attacks on individuals involved with these companies. Do not attempt anything illegal. Shame them, expose them, let them know how you feel, but remember that "two wrongs do not make a right". Keep things honest and respectable.

We had to upgrade the forum for security reasons. As you may notice the FH theme is currently disabled (compatibility issues) but will be back soon.

Modding / BfMeshView 2.0.0
« on: 15-03-2011, 19:03:47 »
I have released a new version of BfMeshView today (1.9.0):

http://www.bytehazard.com/bfstuff/bfmeshview/

Many new features and fixes, the highlights:
* BF2 animation playback!
* added texture mass-rename tool (proven to be very popular among FH devs)
* added browse buttons to material editor
* improved display of UV channel info (should help to clear up confusion when troubleshooting bad lightmap UVs)
* added BF1942 StandardMesh shader/texture loading

Many thanks for the suggestions and bug reports!

One other thing I should also note, the file extension binding has been changed, so that files can be sorted by file type properly in Explorer and Winzip again. You have to open the Options > Preferences window, and click Apply for this to take effect.

If there are any regressions, I'd like to hear about it.

MaxScripts updated as well: http://www.bytehazard.com/bfstuff/
My webhost erroneously restored an old backup a while ago without my knowledge, so some users may have downloaded outdated scripts. Re-download if you're having trouble.

The webpage has now been moved to http://www.bytehazard.com, which is where it will stay for time being, so update your bookmarks.

An update for a special day...

It seems we currently have a problem with users' e-mail addresses being shown in their profiles, regardless of the "hide my email address" setting. This seems to be a bug in the forum software.

The workaround is to change your email address to something invalid, so it cannot be abused.

I will investigate this and keep you updated.
