How about there is a map where the allies have got this really advanced stuff but the Germans just have medieval weponary like horses and swords. I would play as the germans still anyway.

Haha.. that comment's worth a good laugh  ;D Gotta admit it guys, just imagine..

But on-topic - I'm all AGAINST these maps - unless created by fans. I would rather have the devs put their effort and focus on real maps. This would be a nice project for fans, but please, let the devs focus on creating and expanding the theatres of war that actually existed. They can always still do this once FH2 is completed, but as we all know, that's a long way to go, and it will never really be 'finished' anyway. The existing theatres and battles are just more interesting because they happened and most people want to play, re-enact if you will, those.

Hmm, I didn't know about the bouncing tanks. Strange, that in FH1, using the crappier engine, it worked perfectly. As for annoyance, I *do* feel the bleed should last say a half a minute or so, allowing the tanker to repair his tank out of the bleeding part of the health bar. That should settle that issue. By the way, I think anyone would be annoyed if his tank got hit - it just means you're targeted and you should bail out immediately, just like in real life! But oh well, if it can't be done.

Interestingly, last night on a server someone mentioned the word about FH2 needs to be spread further and I agree. Though there are often, at peak hours, at least some two to three full servers online, I still think there could and should be a lot more population. So what are good places and ways to get the word out to more people? A promotional video sounds very good indeed, and - epic - is the keyword here. ;) That'll get them warmed and hopefully they'll stay!  ;D

I have been thinking for a few days about making a Wochenschau-like video. But I want to make it exactly like Wochenschau though, propagandized and all, since those video's are just incredibly impressive as they are and such should not be edited.

Just imagine this, only with FH2 footage and a compilation of GENUINE Wochenschau voices, this guy presenting it has the perfect tone and voice for these type of video's. I don't mean to make it look German biased mod ofcourse, but it's a very interesting and impressive style to work with and would catch people's attention for sure!

I would just like to say that, despite the fact that many tanks are as fast as they should be, they still seem to be overly aware of the environment, probably due to the 3rd person view. I love going AT, but often it's really tough to get that Gebalte Ladung on the back of the tank, getting there is tough already, as turrets spin really fast, and I find that many tanks accelerate incredibly fast to their top speed. All this makes them a bit arcadish and puts a Rambo-tank tag on to them. Some tanks, mostly heavier tanks like the Tiger and Stug, seem perfect in my opinion and serve as a great example. Ofcourse lighter tanks are much more versatile, but I just feel they could be toned down a little to improve gameplay and perhaps add to realism.

I addressed this in another topic but it was shared with another question and thus didn't receive full attention. What about the grenade sound when it hits the floor? Like in Medal of Honor and Call of Duty you have very distinct sounds and you'll know when someone's tossing a grenade in the room. For some reason, it just really adds that little extra intensity to the battle. You'll get those 'oh sh*t!' situations rather than 'why did I die?' and then have to press the tilde key to see what killed me. But most of all, it shouldn't be that hard to implement this right? If not, please tell if such a sound exists and I'll add one myself as a personal mod! :-)

It's really too bad that BF2 doesn't support the same type of disabling of vehicles we saw in FH0.7. I never played FH2.0(didn't get BF2 until 2.15 came out), but I can't imagine I'd dislike an intentionally annoying change to the vehicles' handling after a significant amount of  damage more than the current system in which we have tanks that are literally on fire driving around perfectly normally.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Sometimes you hit a Sherman with the faust, and it will start burning with very low health. However, the tank is still in perfect shape and can do everything a 100% healthy tank can. I do remember indeed, that in FH1, your tank's turret was incredibly slowed down and was hardly movable, and I think it bled to death as well. If we could get that in FH2, then that would make me super-happy just as well!

In my opinion, SP is a lost cause. Too many maps, all with different vehicles, objects, priorities, roles all need to be distributed and waypoints set, and then the AI itself needs fixing. Often the enemy won't fire you - or hit you - unless he's right in front of you. Often they get stuck or don't move at all. A shame, because only in SP you can really play 'real' battles where everyone charges eachother, instead of trying to pinch eachother off of the horizon from a safe spot.

Guys, what worked for me was creating a NEW profile from scratch since I had to after mine got deleted with a FH2 crash (blasphemy!) And that fixed it for me.. alternatively, a reinstall might help, but it's got to be either one as the problem got fixed for me.

My FH2 even reports a crash when I deliberately chose to quit. As if! And many random times during loading. It's pain in the *ass, if you get kicked out from a full server due to the crash, often it's full by the time you get back online. But most of the time there's no problem and never crashed during gameplay (COOP excluded).

The other thing that works against you at range with smgs is the bullet velocity, which is noticeably slower than rifles, though not quite as slow as pistols.

Example:
K98: 737
MP40: 390
P08: 231

Now that's a real answer - as opposed to spam posts like 'you suck'. *sigh* I read that the MP40 had an effective range of 150 metres so I figured it *should* be quite effective at 100. Still, I think it takes too many bullets to kill someone even at 5 metres, I think it takes around three minimum. While anyone would go down with just one.

Anyway, I'm glad more people would like to see better wreck models. I'm not sure but didn't FH1 had static wreck models, non-black-bleached? Perhaps this would be a great example in exchange for the current black one.

The FH2 models are more black (blacker?) than the FH1 ones, but still a wreck in FH1 didn't look like you're suggesting.
