General Discussion / CMP Map Question
« on: 08-01-2019, 17:01:48 »
Are there any plans to update the CMP Map Pack so that it will work with the current version of FH2, or will it already work with it?  Just curious because I've not see any of the maps in rotation on the 762 server lately.  I miss the Pacific maps with ships.  :(

Thanks Matt for answering my question about the WaW server.  That makes perfect sense now.

Hey Guys - see this thread ( http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=21809.0 ).

I wonder if the test today didn't affect the in game browser.  Just curious.  I cannot see the 762 servers with the in game browser, and I had a devil of a time getting the game to launch properly today.  Blander also reported the same problem.  Thanks.

Now it just crashed to desktop after I tell it to skip Gamespy.

I have also set it to run in compatibility mode for Windows 8 and I've tried doing a repair.   However, there are no peers.

Decided to punt and to download the install files from the download page here (Google drive).  If you guys have any ideas, please let me know what to do to fix this issue.  Thanks.

Seems Fixed  Applied the change here ( http://fhpubforum.warumdarum.de/index.php?topic=6599.0 ) and set it to XP (service pack 3) compatibility.  It still seems to hang up a bit and I get an Nvidia warning about running below the recommended resolution, but I was able to launch and connect to a CMP server.   Note that I did not re-install FH2.

Question for Devs: Since Gamespy no longer works, does the FH2 browser rely on the WAW FH2 server being up and running?  I ask because after I got it working I started playing around with the filters for the server browser.  If I disable PB, I can see one for WAW that is out there?  Just curious.   Also - the 762 servers are down.

when I tried to launch FH2 earlier, it refused my connection.  I went into the launcher, showed my user password.  Noted it was correct.  Then when I tried to launch I saw this:

Connecting to GameSpy Server.
An error occurred while verifying "pvtgmerpyleusmc" GameSpy account:

Couldn't connect to bfewaw.com server.    <-- This seems really odd.  What does the bfewaw.com server have to do with FH2 authentication?

I didn't think FH2 still relied on GameSpy.  Why am I seeing this, and why can I no longer play?  Any ideas / assistance would be appreciated.  No internet issues.  Nothing seen from Windows firewall about application blocked.

Hey Melvin,  Thanks for the link.  I'll download it later this evening and manually install the maps.

Nice seeing you in the forums.  Hope to see you online soon.  Any plans at WaW to have another campaign?  I tried F|H, but Fridays don't work well for me because I'm not independently wealthy and I'm too young and too poor to retire.  :-p

I installed the updater, ran it, and then it said a newer one was available.  Installed the update and tried to update my map files.  It threw the exception below:

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Any ideas?  Thanks.

I know this is an old thread.  I recently had to reformat my HD and I'm now using the community updater to re-install the community Map Pack.  The version is v2.2.11  and the status says "needs repair."  Is this OK or do I need to find a newer version of the Community Content Updater?  Thanks.

Didn't work for me at all.  Wish I had not tried it.  I had gotten 2.8G downloaded with an estimated 3 hours left.  Now it's resumed and showing 0.0 KB of 982 M with no peers and  0.0 kbps speed.  Ugh.

Mine's bouncing between about 148 kbps and 28 kbps.

 Since someone already brought up the Japanese, might there be another surprise in store for us that takes place in the Pacific?

I really need to spend some time reading about it online.  A friend from work told me that MS is changing their revenue model with Windows 10, and that they will charge a yearly fee for the OS going forward with 10.  That is something I'm not so keen to do.

Still... I might check it out down the road.

Thanks everybody for your responses.

FH2 Help / Support / Windows 10

I'm guessing that most folks who are running Windows 7 have noticed an icon on the start bar for the free Windows 10 upgrade.  Has anyone upgraded yet, and if so are they able to run FH2?

Thanks.

Question:  I'm using the version of BF1942 w/o origin that is the http://team-simple.org/ version.  Will the standard .07 work with this?

Edit:  I managed to get it to work.  I installed the regular FH 0.7 version.  I then installed a wide screen fix that I downloaded from pixel-fighter.  Was able to play Gold beach, but crashed on Pavlov's house during load.  Set compatibility mode to Windows 98/ME and it's working like a charm.   ;D
